The original Guild Wars game is being brought out of maintenance mode today. It's not a full redo though they apparently did make some graphical improvements, added controller support, etc.

I hadn't played it in years... in fact it wasn't even installed on this machine. I decided to have a peek and see what might have changed but now I'm waiting for 31,750 files to download. I did have all the expansions so maybe why that's why there are so many but... dayum. I don't know if I'll even get to launch the actual game tonight. LoL

Still it's awesome that  my login still worked and all my characters seem to be there on the selection screen (although not wearing their upgraded armors; hopefully that'll be fixed once I load in and they haven't been "stripped" somehow).

I had a lot of good times in that game... it'll be interesting to revisit those old maps and such.

Looks interesting. I miss the days of grabbing my halberd and lopping off the dragon's head (and drinking 20 health potions during the fight because I'm getting my ass kicked LOL).

No potions in GW but it does have Monks (healer/protection) which was/is my favorite class to play.

Just for something to do I'd go to hard missions that ordinary require 2 monks in the party and take teams through with only me providing the healing. As long as we didn't have any Leroys we'd do fine. Muaha*!
