The crux of the matter is this. I expect my leadership to do what is in the best interest of my people and myself. I expect it and in some ways it is comforting to know that is the way of things as it is predictable. Isn't that the entire premise behind the nuclear arms race? the mutual assurance that the other guy was just as concerned with complete annihilation as we were?
