Well, the problem there is that to this day about 47% of the population of the US is of German ancestry.  It was higher back during WWII.  I myself can trace my ancestry to north central Germany and still maintain ties to distant relatives there.

I often wonder if any of my relatives herded Jews into gas chambers back in the day.

My moms dad was 1/2 Austrian 1/2 English and my moms mom was 1/2 german. That POS german was a complete fuking bum. When his wife died of pneumonia at the age of 29, he hired a woman who was an abusive drunk to watch his 6 kids while he drank himself into a stupor continuously. The state of illinois came in and took all the kids to an orphanage.
