Help...downloading music from google play...

No, I want to buy and album off google play...I am going to purchase it...where will the music go after I purchase it??

You don't actually own it. It's still DRM locked to Google and can't be played outside of Google Play. Also, after three downloads (when you upgrade devices as you go), your licence expires and you no longer own it at all and would have to pay again.



It's a dodgy set up.

The yearly subscription is different from buying. I use Google Play music for my music. The paid subscription lets you stream and download unlimited music. Buying an album from Google Play store is different. You buy it you own it on your Google account forever. They never expire.



You can only play the album on Google Play music on your laptop or smartphone etc. Even if you download the album after you buy it it'll just be on Google Play music. No mp3 files provided.

I'm pretty sure it's only three dl's you get from the Google buy option. Check the fine print.

Once you buy it you can download it as many times as you want. Like on my phone. I can delete it, download it, delete, and download it back again and again. This is not a subscription where it expires.

I didn't think anyone else still had one.

I have one...its on my kitchen counter ledge.  I used it when the kid was little for kids cds, now I keep it there for when my mom comes to my place when I'm not home, she brings her cds or listens to the radio.

Thanks, I read your link and will do a bit more research about it. I stopped buying albums on Google Play a number of years ago so I don't know if I read the fine print wrong or they've changed their TOS since.
