A lot of reasons besides the cold. Lack of infrastructure, opportunities, isolation, high cost of living and on and on. It will always be a resource harvesting hub for workers not from the region.

Australia has a massive area which is uninhabited because its a stinking hot rocky desert and this is why I am sooooo much against immigration now... Having too many people puts pressure on our green areas...







There is a drought on our east coast... they cleared to much land for farms and now we get 49.5 degree days in places that shouldn't get that ridiculous temp.





Everytime bloody immigrants come, precious trees come down... now we are at absolute breaking point.

It's ironic the same people that believe AGW is an existential threat are the same people who want Canada, which is a carbon sink because of our forests, to cut down more or our trees to make room for mass immigration.
