That is a very simplistic and although accurate definition of the forces controlling and perpetrating the "Woke" movement. What you are describing is the current forces in control of the sociopolitical ideology currently known as "woke". Sad to say but most people who subscribe to being "woke" don't know nor care what is truely driving or controlling the movement.



For most people who have not delved that far into the entities behind the movement it's political term of African American origin and it refers to a perceived awareness of issues concerning social and racial justice. The term is a vernacular derivative of "Stay Woke" which has been kicking around for decades going back to the early 20th century which is long before progressivism latched on to it. The term actually has its roots with the Republican Party where it was a political slogan used in 1860 by political forces supporting Lincoln. The terms "Woke" and "Wide Awake" were used interchangeably to call attention to the spread of and the atrocities caused by slavery. Nowadays it has been usurped by liberals who think of themselves as crusaders for racial justice because everyone has to be made aware that black folk are and were the only people to get the shitty end of the stick.

What I do know, is that prog money is using their vast resources to neuter blue collar workers like me who have comfortable lives. Identity politics is how they demonize us and shut us up. Mass immigration, climate alarmism, and "achieving equity" are the excuses the power hungry bastards use to make the middle class unemployed, poor and without choices.  



My union executive is completely out of touch with it's due paying members. They support issues and parties that work against our interests. Much like our elitist politicians in Canada, they tell us what they want. They do not care what we want. Progs have kicked out the old school socialists in politics and in my union and replaced them with their paid stooges.



I have three and a half years to go until I retire. I can hardly wait to get out of Canada.

True, I use the terms interchangeably, but they are not the same. I am a proponent of a minimalist state model. Neoliberalism uses the state to bring about market reforms, which is the polar opposite of classical liberalism.
