Reason is stifled by the hysteria of the out-of-control socialist-fascist left.

Never in my years (and there is a lot of them) have a witnessed society cowered and controlled by a screeching minority using lies and delusions to convince the world that their madness is justified.

Never in human history has a generation NOT been able to assess the conduct of previous generations and declare mistakes were made. But only rarely has humanity not learned from those mistakes and moved on. When I was barely a teenager, black Americans were being persecuted and murdered. But in the span of my time on Earth, a black American was elected President.

We learn, we grow, we progress. But never with a smooth and sychronised step. Rather we often stumble and backtrack...but we get there.

But feminist fuelled airheads (yes, I am blaming radical feminism and militant females for much of the furore) are only interested in hate, malice and vengeance. Look around. How many of these snot encrusted millenial activists are screeching females with spineless token milksops in tow?

Women have embraced the principles of failed socialism because they need a cause to justify their existence. The modern young women is a messed up militant looking for a purpose beyond home, husband and family. Screaming at white men seems to satisfy their primal urges.

For now.

I don't know how it is in Australia, but the radical green extremists are given carte blanche in Canada..

Working families like mine pay the price for their madness.

We're not quite as manipulated by radicals of different disciplines. They try, but Australians tend to push back on activism.

But they're here and noisy.

That's how they were here ten years ago.

Point taken.

This is why I advocate a separation from America's purported "leadership" and culture.

Their poison leaks across the globe, and we just sit and sip it down because it tastes good.

America's cancel culture, the interference in the justice system, woke corpoarations who look down on people who buy their products doesn't taste good to anyone, expecially average Americans who are forced to consume that nonsense.

Bricktop

I have no interest in what Americans consume. But I do care about what Australians consume, and buying into the myth that America leads the free world is going to hurt us.

I would much prefer that our American cousins realised what a mess they are making and bring about changes that create a more peaceful and harmonious world. I do not see that happening at any time in the future.

Hence we, the "free world" need to find our own paths to follow, free of America's violent culture, corruption and hypocritical deceit.

I'm hopeful that CANZUK will come to fruition. This will give us, Canada, the UK and New Zealand a new way of connecting with the world and each other.

Dunno what a CANZUK is, but we are in far worse shape than the US in all regards .. and even more destructively woke with wheel still pushed forward on all society  items (i.e. headed further downward)

Covid + certain re-lection of the same destructive crap we have  (that's how stupid our population is) being  the final coup de grâce

I have no evidence that you guys are in great shape either ... seems you have your own self-serving dunces ... but as long as you feel you and us  are "better than others" keep chuggin onward .. or climb down from  that high pony, roll your sleeves up and fix it

Oh, and thanks for turning a gentle and positive thread about  the excellent expression of wisdoms ..  into a hateful self-absorbed  pile of slop.

If we wanted that crap, we'd have called Joe over long ago

The OP was about an American "philosopher" whose observations about his own nation corroborate my view that the US is toxic. I fail to see how agreeing with his viewpoints and offering my own thoughts is "hateful" self absorbtion. If I discuss ME, that would make sense.

Agreeing with the subject of your thread, I would have thought, would be constructive.

Nonetheless, out of respect, I'll vacate your thread, and probably your forum. I'm not THAT self absorbed that I ignore my provocative and anti American feelings and beliefs that wear thin. I only popped back for a short while anyway.

Peace.

Don't go away Brick. Simply drop the  "better than others" stuff  .. if you can ... and all is good

I simply was not going to let you get away with speaking like you were superior to us "lesser beings" (+ unwarranted and unneeded insults)

because guess what .. You are not remotely superior .. except maybe in your mind

This is not an attack group, which is a good thing. Lighten up & play nice. I bet you like yourself better when you drop that negative tack.

You "can" be a great poster when you don't get carried away with yourself

Both our countries are pretty messed up and getting worse for working people.

CANZUK is unlikely. It's not the EU, USMCA, or the Closer Economic Relations (CER) agreement between Australia and New Zealand. Geographical separation limits the value of any such union.

NZ can never be a reliable partner in anything of importance

It has always been a bastion of progressive silliness and cowardice  .. one could say a southern hemispheric Sweden

They are currently not cooperating on China .. We are actually "4 Eyes" ... with or without glasses
