How many days,weeks, months before a war with Russia happens?

On my lunch break, Global Calgary interrupted their news broadcast to deliver a Q&A with President Biden..



He seemed disoriented and he warned of grave consequences for Russia.

He did badly when questioned - Laffed continually and embarrassingly when confused by questions

Trouble is, he has forgotten to remove his foot.

European nations are not known for developing independent powerful militaries, as one Adolf Hitler will attest. France was considered to be a military powerhouse and they laid down their arms when Germany invaded.



European safety requires European unity. That is not to say that NATO is the answer. I think most of us agree that it is in some ways responsible for Ukraine's plight.



But to think that a fragmented Europe can contain Russia might be overly optimistic. You're asking a pack of dogs to contain a caged bear, when should the bear break out of the cage, most of the dogs will turn and run.

The European Union is considering a joint military force of up to 5,000 troops by 2025 to intervene in a range of crises and without relying on the United States, according to a draft plan. A good post NATO idea that should be expanded.

Yea, a lot of service has been taken for granted and some has been abused by a group of people.  I remember Odinson once said people picking berries deserve to make a living, no offense to him but good luck funding national defense with that kind of entitlement.  Even if they heavily defunded the military, I wouldn't be surprised if the government will still be in a deficit just paying off the country's social assistance and welfare support.  ac_unsure

I want NATO disbanded. Canada and the US have NORAD. The Europeans need their own alliance. The rapid deployment force is a good start.
