Imam Jamac was born in Somalia. He has memorized the Quran at 11 and started leading taraweeh at 12. He studied Islamic studies and Shariah law in New Castle, South Africa . He then studied Arabic in Yemen. He is one of Canada's amazing Qari and he is well-known for his beautiful recitation. He has led taraweeh at many masjids across Canada. Currently, he is the Imam of the MAC Islamic Center (Rahma Mosque) in Edmonton, Alberta.

A mysterious jihadist who left her home in Canada in late November to join ISIS has toured the caliphate like a VIP, appearing in key locations throughout Syria and Iraq and prompting intel analysts to wonder what is behind her seemingly elevated status.

[size=85]An unidentified woman who left Canada for the caliphate barely two months ago has shown up in every corner of the Islamic State's bloody realm, from Mosul, Kobani, Aleppo and Raqqa, and several stops in between.[/size]



Little is known about the woman who calls herself "Lama Sharif al-Shammari" on Twitter and who terrorism experts simply call "L.A." They believe she left Canada some time after Nov. 23 to join Islamic State, arrived on Dec. 8 and was in Syria as recently as Tuesday. Analysts believe she may be a Sunni Muslim of Saudi descent.



But what sets "L.A." apart from thousandsof radicalized foreigners who have flocked from North America and Europe to the terrorist army's killing fields is that her Twitter account shows she has been to virtually every corner of Islamic State's bloody realm within a three-week period, according to analysts. They believe her whirlwind itinerary indicates she is somehow significant and has risen inexplicably through the ranks.

Eleven of Canada's highest-profile jihadi terrorists, terror suspects and alleged extremists have ties to the Muslim Students Association, a security conference has heard.



The data was presented on Thursday evening by the Canadian Military Intelligence Association in Ottawa, where three men were charged Tuesday with terrorism-related offences.



Suspect Awso Peshdary, 25, was an invited speaker of the Muslim Students Association at Ottawa's Algonquin College last year. He's accused of financing efforts to send recruits from Canada to Syria to join the Islamic State.



A second man, Khadar Khalib, 23, was a member of the same MSA and the third suspect, John Maguire, 24, attended MSA events at the University of Ottawa. The latter two are believed to be in Syria.



The 11 named at the security conference range from people, like Maguire, who reportedly attended a few MSA events, to top executives like former MSA leader Salman Ashrafi of Calgary.



He blew himself up in November 2013 in a double suicide bombing at an Iraqi military base, reportedly killing 46 people on behalf of ISIS.



Former friends in Lethbridge, Alberta say Ashrafi was very involved in the MSA.



The Muslim Students Association has operated on Canadian campuses since its inception the early 1960s when Canada's Muslim population numbered just a few thousand.[...]



The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the conservative think-tank Middle East Forum have all reported that the MSA was heavily financed by Saudi Arabia.
