A little story in relation to this artist. I figure most of you know she's from a band called The Go Gos. I went to see them in concert in the late 80s at an old theater renovated to host concerts. After doing a couple of encores, Belinda came out with a picture of some guy who I think she said was a mentor of hers and pinned it to the microphone stand.
Toward the middle of the song she was singing, some guy from the audience jumped on stage, grabbed the picture and disappeared into the audience again. She was furious and voiced her disapproval right before she stormed offstage. The rest of the band looked a little confused, but eventually followed her into the backstage area, thus ending the concert prematurely.
I couldn't hear exactly what she said during her little speech, but I did notice that the Go Go's hadn't performed in Chicago after that for many years out of spite, and I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't come back since that fateful evening.
