If they are good enough for the USMC they are more than good enough for you. Only I do not know if they make them in size "Sasquatch" or if the soles and shank can support something that weighs as much as a M2 Bradley, so you might be SOL.  ac_toofunny



All kidding aside, I've worn them for many years and for shear toughness and comfort, I wouldn't wear any other tactical boot. You could spend a lot more money and do a lot worse.

Of what is the sole made of?



The weather just simply either makes the sole hard as rock or cracks it... That happens with a lot of boots.

The soles are Vibram rubber with a polyurethane mid-sole and most of their models have a fiberglass shank. I've never had them get hard due to weather but like anything else, they will eventually wear out or crack but you really have to beat the snot out of them in the extreme for that kind of failure.

I´ve had boots, expensive boots that had soles made of some crappy material... Turned hard in the cold which caused them to lose grip making them extremely slippery.

Or the sole just plain deteriorated..
