So let me ask a dumb question... what's the purpose of giving people (more than one person from what I could determine) on here unchecked delete privileges if there are already mods and the questionable registered members are already confined to a subforum where their posts have to be approved before being seen?

I don't exactly know the history of the deleters but I thought it was for when we had guest posting.  It was getting out of hand with porn spam and an extra hand was needed.  It's now on approve basis.



Post deleting should be used very sparingly and with reasons provided, even in RR or FW as those aren't free for all areas, nor is guest posting.



Either way, I agree that moderators should take care of things.

I think I opened what might have started out as a spam bot thread which was edited to remove the original message. The only way I've seen that effectively keeps them out is captcha verification, but it sometimes causes additional problems.
