They're not rats.

The only rat in this country is you.

Are you talking about natural gas?

WA natural gas is found, capped, and is for future use.

I know Herman worked in the oil and gas drilling and servicing sector in Australia and around the world.

caskur

Then he should know Western Australia has gas reserves that will never run out.

If beautiful cockatoos are rats, I wish we had some in our yard.

Poor pigeons are described as flying rats.

Not everyone likes birds. I'd say he is one of those people.

One or two are fine in the yard. It's when dozens or hundreds show up that the mayhem starts. The noise should be used in Gitmo to sonically torture terrorists.

They also chew everything in sight like a locust plague

They do less damage than bulldozers chewing up the bush...

This is their country... gum trees are their trees. That's the way God made things.

Considering how few bulldozers raze bushland these days, Cockies do a whole lot MORE damage. They literally hang out with seagulls nowadays but behave even worse.

Plus they don't taste very good and take a long time in a slow cooker to be tender.

They are so expensive here.

Ironically, it is the vast and unimpeded clearance of land in Australia's infancy that has contributed to the increased cockatoo population. Open areas suit their feeding demands better than forested land.
