Multiple people injured in Greektown shooting:



Unconfirmed reports say as many as 10 people have been shot in Greektown.



Toronto police have confirmed a shooting did take place along Danforth Avenue near Logan Avenue around 10 p.m., however, they would not say how many people have been injured.



Paramedics tell CityNews the scene encompasses several blocks and a number of victims have sustained significant injuries. A number of emergency runs have been made to at least two trauma centres in the city.



Witnesses tell CityNews that they heard up to 25 gunshots.



The fate of the gunman is unknown at this time.



Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shootings to go to a command post that has been set up at Pape Avenue and Danforth Avenue.



The TTC says subway trains are bypassing Chester station due to the police activity in the area.

Paramedic Union Tweeted (15 minutes ago) : "This is a truly difficult mass casualty incident. Paramedics are working extremely hard right now in Toronto."

15 hours later, Chief said they are 'awaiting search warrant" for his residence



WTF? Why would that not be almost instantaneous?



While it seems only one person, they know nothing of motive yet  ... and in some cases like this mass shooting  a group plot is ongoing with others still out there and info is needed NOW

It should be instantaneous...  Nowadays Cops can simply call a Judge on the phone, and be granted a warrant.  Not sure why there'd be a delay...



Perhaps they're simply waiting to assemble the right 'team' to go in there and look around.
