Its not pricey for the level of durability and security it provides. Its not an everyday school bag. Its a bag designed to protect expensive equipment. People who don't carry anything requiring higher levels of protection than a cheap bag provides won't be interested.

I dunno. The Cabelas bag I mentioned is completely waterproof and the company offers good quality products. It may not offer anti theft but I'd be more worried about torrential downpours and dunkings than theft.

Notice it didn't display photographic equipment. Its not suitable, as its waterproof, which means it does not breathe. Cameras HATE humidity, which is why specialised camera bags are made of breathable fabric. Its a matter of horses for courses.



And if you were carrying around 10kg of camera, lens and tripod in that bag, it isn't going to float merrily downstream.



Now, cue some bullshit yarn about how you carried a $70,000 video camera across the Andes in a Coles shopping bag.

Desiccant gel packs are readily available and reusable. Buoyancy in a sealed waterproof bag isn't an issue.



I'm not a photographer and the Andes has a range of climates. Coles has no footprint in South, Central, or North America that I'm aware of.

That's sort of what I was getting at. For a much cheaper price one could get a quality waterproof 30 litre backpack which might work better in rain forest like regions along the Northwestern Coast of the US and Canada. I understand the allure of the other bag though, but that price sucks for what it is and it looks like a fairweather bag which would need a rain fly in torrential rains. Also doubt it's submersible.



Desiccant is cheap too.

We have an rv, so we don't camp deep in the forest where hunters go..



We don't own anything from Cabela's..



I like their stores though and the fudge they make.

Can't you you just place orders as they come in? They must keep some on hand.

I'm not too sure do you mean back order from the manufactuer or only stock up when we get orders, it's not entirely impossible either way, but most ppl have a habit of changing their minds due to the long wait, which is understandable.

No, I meant you could just order what you need from the manufacturer as your customers place orders from you.

I do like the idea of it, I mean it can save us a lot of space and money and we can sell it for a cheaper price too in the long run, but unless we order from a distributor, usually there's an MOQ(minimum order quantity) and it might keep our customers waiting too long.  IMO this method might work for teens that don't mind waiting just to save like a 5-10% off.
