Permanently off his rocker

Here's a Yes classic that incorporates rock beats and chords with a classical composition (Jupiter, The Bringer Of Jollity...a well know tune written by Gustav Holst) and a classical orchestra.

Bricktop

And here's Rick Wakeman, the keyboard player for Yes performing another Holst composition, "Mars, The Bringer Of War"...about as epic as it can get and somewhat suited to our times.

">

Bricktop

And here it is in its classical orchestral form.

Turn it up LOUD!!!!

I've never heard of this track before, still it brings back so many good memories, like it's the father of epic space theme music and movies.

I think most musicologists would confirm that Holst's "The Planets" is very much the genesis of such music.

Just by listening to only one of his musical piece, I'm already getting a strong feeling he even inspired one of the most famous musicians in Japan, Joe Hisaishi.

A lot of Hisaishi's music has a Earth/nature theme to it, I'll post a link below to one of his well known song if anyone is interested.

It's good to go outside our usual musical tastes on occasion Zetsu.
