Quote from: "Odinson"At worst, capitalism works like communism did..

The products and services deteriorate due to the hunt for bigger profits.

The big companies snuff the little companies so that they can keep monopoly on certain things.

Tbh at least capitalism can be played like a game only if people got what it takes and toughen up, but communism/socialism is really people wanting to be spoon fed and have their ass wiped by others.  Though I'm no fan of anything over 90% capitalism, maybe something like the US would be the best system atm, not Hong Kong despite how attractive the tax rate is.  ac_unsure

Hong Kong has ceded the international city title to Singapore..

Hong Kong's raison d'ĂȘtre is a safe haven for mainland money.

HK is out of control atm, too much wealth and demand at once location, but limited resource like housing, milk powder, etc.
Permanently off his rocker

Nobody should be surprised it took this turn, especially considering the person who started this thread.

Just so.  I've been known to use the same Seagull tactic myself.

I've heard of  seagull management.

Seagull posting is similar.  A poster who hasn't been around for a while flies in, drops some trollbait, and flies off.

Seagulls don't like dropping anything except poo.

You're talking about Stork Posting.

Seoulbro your major problem is that you simply dont like people disagreeing with you.

Personally I dont mind if someone holds views contrary to my own, an if thet present enough credible evidence to discredit my POV & support theirs, I'll change nmy POV.

For example while I voted for Justin Trudeau I may be inclined to switch my vote next time round if someone better comes along.

And you have presented some credible evidence supported by various articles that Trudeau may not be the best person for the job. I don't like to admit that but as the news events unfold I may be inclined , tho reluctantly, to share your pov.

But, at least you don't derail discussions just to get attention like the old virgin does.

Social programs seem to cost less in Northern Europe than they do in North America.

The ultra wealthy in America constantly complain that the top marginal tax rate for them is too high. I believe its less than 38%?

https://www.taxpolicycenter.org/statistics/historical-highest-marginal-income-tax-rates">https://www.taxpolicycenter.org/statist ... -tax-rates">https://www.taxpolicycenter.org/statistics/historical-highest-marginal-income-tax-rates

Yet in Hitler's Germany which has been acclaimed as one of the most economically successful nations in history, he raised the taxes of the wealthy to at least 50%. Yet, they supported him. All those ballyhooed public works projects Trump has proposed take money and taxes. He shouldlearn from his ideological mentor Adolph.

Anyways under H, every German had free state subsidized healthcare, funded partially by the higher marginal tax rate he imposed on the rich. Tho evil, Hitler has been portrayed as a fascist while many of his social policies were socialist including free healthcare

These are usually for people that make under the poverty line. AKA low middle to middle class gets excluded.
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

What is the poverty line?

How much can you earn in a year and still be considered poor.

The national one varies depending on how many are in the household.

1 person = $12,490

2 person = $16,910

3 person = $21,330
