If this was arson, then the arsonist would have needed to use both an igniter and an accelerant. Now, the use of these implements leave very clear and identifiable traces and indicators. Fire investigators can spot arson the moment they look at the scene and identify the ignition point. Accelerants, such as petrol and kerosene do NOT completely combust...so when an accelerant has been utilised, you can SMELL it hours after the fire has been extinguished.



Now, try a little experiment. Take a can of petrol into your garden, pour it onto a non flammable surface and throw a match from well away. You may note that the petrol does not burn, but ignites with a substantial force.



Imagine that an arsonist used a 50 litre can of petrol. The resulting explosion would have been instantly observed. Practiced arsonists know that pouring an accelerant around the target area than tossing a match is likely to lead to their death, because by the time the match is lit, the building has filled with vapour which also ignites.



Electrical faults can be identified in seconds. If there is a short circuit, then the circuit breakers will almost certainly activate. If investigators see an activated circuit breaker, then in the absence of any other obvious cause, they can be almost certain an electrical fault occurred.



All of this can be observed without walking through the ashes.



Journalists do either not care about such facts, or choose to ignore them so that you, the livestock that they feed on for profit, will buy their shit.

After Reading up on it-- Yes there are times when they can walk into the room and smell the accelerant.  But there are many others where it will take tests to determine if an accelerent was used, and no tests, as far as I read, were done yet.  Also it can require close examination, and examination was not possible because the structure was too unsafe to set foot in because of possible falling debris.



Basically they were only guessing.   Which is fine, but that is not final.  Chances are it wasn't arson, but until it is ruled out, it is certainly possible.

I've been in that belfry. The bell technician's comparison to it being a forest isn't far off the mark. It's a maze of elaborate beams and supports that the bells pivot on, as well as a small area where the bellringer lived in medieval times.

There is way more than enough money to pay to fix Notre-Dame plus a lot left over (especially since they probably will get insurance money as well) I wonder what they will do with all the excess money they are getting?  Probably put it in that poser fake popes pocket.  :mad:
