Apparently that highway is popular with young hitchhikers.

The murdered pair had a vehicle... Picking up a hitchhiker is a possibility.

There van broke down on the highway..



Witnesses who passed them said they were alone at the time.

Oh gawd... that's right. BUT maybe they picked up a hitchhiker BEFORE they broke down. Maybe he taking a crap off the side of the road somewhere or sleeping in the van

Possibly, but they were killed where their van broke down and witnesses who stopped said no other person was present.

Alandra Hull, another road worker, said that when she passed the van the couple was in an intense conversation with a bearded man who "kind of looked frustrated or something." He was holding his palms out and was just staring at the couple.



We don't know exactly they were killed but Trevor Pierre, the road worker who discovered the bodies, said they were found in a ditch. Deese was closer to the road and about five metres behind her was Fowler. Deese only had one shoe on whereas Fowler had none.
