Was a sad day, I watched the live feed of the sale, sold for half a million dollars.



We were promised the forum would stay with the new takeover by a porn company, sadly it did not, and we lost a LOT of good members.

 

I know, crazy right. Also imagine like 100 posters or so that were regulars posting daily.

Fash and I were on a forum about 14 years ago that had 20,000 posters and had 50,000 posts per month. It even had a paid section, It's gone now.

Wow! We had more than 100, just saying daily folks lol. Thats crazy though!

We had more than that during it's peak..



It was an Asian-American forum that went from being super busy to dead in a short time.

Yep, that's about the time it died.

Blows my mind folks would rather not post on a forum with free speech and stuff, and instead go for a censored shit hole thats all about "me me me". Not to mention the facial recognition software, clunky site, big brother watching, etc.

I don't know because I don't have FB anymore. I still use the Chinese clone of it.

I still use it to stay in touch with friends and family around the world.

I do the same thing without FB, but on forums

I noticed it said family after I hit post lol. Nah thats one of the reasons I DONT do FB, I dont wanna hear my sisters fake, drama, lie infused bullshit. I dont have much family left, my brother and great aunt are the only ones I care to talk to anyway. So I text or call them.

YuO were party to the many "raids" on non-flaming forums, and yUo were party to many other things.

Flaming was built on fun and humour, and the original proponents were skilled and articulate writers who could bring tears to your eyes with laughter, not malice and PI. However, less intelligent and creative individuals saw an opportunity to make themselves appear tough and intimidating, and lacking the prerequisite tools to flame for folly, resorted to PI and personal abuse in order to pretend they could flame. These cacophonous gibbons eventually undermined the foundations of what was the epicentre of brilliant and witty flaming, Brawl Hall. True flamers simply walked away from the immature bickering of the less endowed.

Guys. Seriously? All this trouble for a "flame" forum? Instead of making it more complicated. Look, I understand how some BC members might be turned "off" at the idea of "flaming". Okay, I get it. It's not for everyone.



But to make up a rule in the "flame" forum about not bringing up "old grudges" and what one can or cannot "flame" about; is just plain silly.



Now, Rotwang, Fat Danny all these guys guys know what the deal is. If you had your "flame" forum open for 5 years, there will be "grudges" by BC members, because that's how people are. It's human nature.
