I dont stick around long enough to read about the bullshit. I really dont know how you people have time to forum travel and troll to no end.  Would drive me bananas.

I am not in that group. I come and go here as I please so I don't stick around, and I've never been to any of the forums mentioned and never will. I used to go to memebee and Blue's forum but haven't in ages. I do not forum travel nor troll to no end.

Same here. I am not joining any goofy troll board. I was registered at Blue's mmb sub, but I do not go there anymore. This is the only forum I post on or even read anymore. Joe and Mel did not fit in here because we are not spreading cross forum gossip  24/7/365.

Is it slander or libel?

1.  Since both words are legal constructs arising from Anglo-Saxon jurisprudence, neither can be strictly applied to the purported words of a pre-Christian Greek philosopher.



2.  But as we use the terms, slander is oral and libel is written (and we mostly say "libel" regarding internet "speech.")  Thus we would say that Thuggie libels people, rather than slanders them.



3.  But in the context of a remark by Socrates (who didn't write stuff down) in the context of Debates which are always oral, I think "slander" is the better choice.



4.  However, since Socrates wasn't a writer, no quote attributed to him can ever be solidly proven through a primary source.  At best, his quotes come from others who wrote about him.



5.  There's even more imprecision in actual translation.  For instance, in the Koine Greek of the New Testament there are four or five words, all with different shades of meaning and different levels of sinfulness, that are all translated for us as "slander" but none that are translated as "libel."

That seems to be the consensus. Though the more I read about Dove, the lower my opinion of her.

I don't want to focus on personalities on a foum, but there seems to be a lot of truth to that.
