I know...

...I got bit when I was 5 trying to catch one as my pet (ie. bestest coolest friend ever)..  ac_biggrin

Thank god my grandmother's psychotic elderly dog snapped its neck or there would be no cadaver for the hospital to analyze for rabies....thus necessitating a very painful injection in the abdomen...

I'm sorry cute little furry squirrel that I knocked off a branch with a rock and who fell into a pile of raked leaves and in a ready to strike squirrel kung fu position...

I didn't mean to scream and twirl you around for what seemed to be minutes when you were attached to my little hand...

Nypper the dog however wouldn't be sorry... he got his favourite treat ever...a bucket of ice cream (and he didn't even have to break into the freezer for it)....
Blahhhhhh...

They are entertaining to watch..

We don't have many tree squirrels like Eastern Canada does, but we have a lot of ground squirrels, or gophers.

Big black squirrels are ubiquitous in Southern Ontario. They are literally in every tree, and you seem them running across lawns. They are at least twice the size of red squirrels. They seem harmless enough. But, I haven't tried to catch one either.

kiebers

That is in my community. It is hard to imagine that squirrel is still alive. We feed squirrels all the time in our yard. Trust me if one bites me, the wife or dog...dead squirrel. In fact there would be several dead squirrels just to make sure. Squirrel and dumplins.....
I've learned that if someone asks you a really stupid question and you reply by telling them what time it is, they'll leave you alone

Sounds like something Herman would eat. Along with barrel wash of course.

I got ground squirrels everywhere on my farm. It's fun shooting them with my 22.

Chipmunks make good pets if you catch them as babies.

I've heard of people eating squirrels..

They say they taste like rabbits.

Blurt

Squirrels are plentiful in Montreal, especially the brown, gray, and russet varieties. On "the Mountain" (the natural park overlooking the downtown core), they'll clamber onto your shoulders or hop in your lap to get at a handful of peanuts. They're especially entertaining when you play tug o' war with them over a single cashew nut; they'll bite into the nut and then place their tiny paws against the tip of your thumb for leverage and repeatedly pull with all their might. They have this look in their eyes that says, "Seriously, bro?"

Several years ago, the City forbid the feeding of wildlife on the Mountain (including squirrels, ducks, geese, raccoons, deer, and red foxes) because the animals come to rely on humans as a food source and there are massive die-offs when Montrealers avoid the park over the winter months.
Aimin\' to misbehave.
