He shot her and stole her Smith...  Nothing really that horrific.

Umm...article says he shot her in the chest multiple times, then went to her car and executed her...what isn't horrific about that?

We live in a society where it's (a) considered okay to punch a nazi, (b) anyone can be called a nazi and (c) anyone who argues is....  ac_boring I've seen footage of little old ladies getting beaten up on the streets for that shit and the RCMP did nothing to stop it and three tenths of sweet fuck all to redress the situation after the fact.

Here's my point; lack of respect for each other has given us a society with so little empathy that things like Nova Scotia are the new norm. The constant sensationalism and politicization of what ails us and what we are told should ail us has inured this little black duck, the horror has been replaced with repugnance and even that is now fading to indifference. The old Canada is slipping away and yes, I am sad to see it go. We used to be better than this, but with the rowdy neighbours we have, the uptick of infotainment masquerading as "news" on our networks and the sweet socialist snake oil lullabies of a little nannying going a long way so more nannying must be better, I for one am looking forward to our next prescribed tragedy with supreme disinterest.

Sorry Berry Sweet, I wish I wasn't so blackpilled that I couldn't empathize with you better on this. Best advice I can give you is to heal your heart over it and try not to let it get to you. I'm sure you have loved ones and an extended community that is within your capabilities to nurture and care for against this sort of crap. Continue to do that - it's worth the effort.

And if you personally see someone who looks to be headed down the road that gunman in Nova Scotia took, show them compassion and understanding. It may be the only thing that averts something like this happening in your own back yard.

No, it wouldn't.  I don't know why you think shrinks are some kind of magical, mystical beings?  They aren't.  They can only diagnose with the info they have, and that info is one of two things:  What the client chooses to tell them, and what the client has done, the latter being dependent on the shrink knowing what, if anything, the client has done in the past.

Her vest and being hit in non critical areas probably prevented immediate death.  He finished her off though, probably with a shot to the head.

I'm just saying he shot her execution style, just like he did all the other victims.  Her murder was no more horrific than any of the others, is what I meant.

Here are just one of the basic ways to identify one, while I wouldn't be surprise if shrinks have more options and superior solutions through a series of more complex tests.

Even that article supports the unlikelyhood of a shrink spotting one

QuoteA psychopath will hurt you, and you'll never see it coming.

Having read you well and knowing your weaknesses and vulnerabilities, a psychopath may not immediately act on this information. He or she will, however, use what's been gathered against you in the future.

Neighbors, friends and co-workers may react in disbelief after learning about someone they know who's ultimately revealed as a psychopathic personality. The psychopath's victims never see it coming.

A smart psychopath plays with shrinks  .. the opportunity would be relished as a challenge .. he will eat the shrink for lunch and the shrink "will not see it coming"  .. another victory for Mr psychopath .. not a fair fight at all
QuoteFrom a personal perspective, and drawing on a wealth of psychological insight from experts, here's how to recognize a psychopath.

None on the list will he show the shrink. Smart psychopaths know the list and how to play it to their advantage .. again, a challenge / chance to win again

But if the psychopath chooses hurt the shrink, it only gives away the identity of the lunatic.

Some psychopath don't even know what they're doing and their biggest weakness is they're highly dictated by their own personality, which gives the psychiatrist more clues to find out.

Dude, even the shrinks who shrinked Bundy couldn't even agree what was up with him.  One shrink even changed her diagnoses numerous times.

You make it sound like it's some exact science, where they can predict if some guy is going to go on a shooting rampage in the future.  They can NOT!

He won't hurt him. He'll play with him. The objective in that situation is not to hurt .. at lease so the shrink knows he's being hurt ... He'll just make him think he's a OK guy  .. the immediate objective

Psychopaths are   immediate objective oriented people

You can get into a persons mind only if they truly let you in.  It's one reason why we have such strong client confidentiality laws in place, because if we didn't nobody would tell them a damn thing!

You're not getting my point again Mel, I've mentioned before Tedbundy doesn't reflect anywhere close to the average psychopath, nor can shrinks foresee the future but the purpose of a psychiatric test is to root out the more common psychopath or nut heads so they don't turn the neighbourhood into another beehive.

23 I just read

HALIFAX — The number of people who died in a rampage by a Halifax man impersonating an RCMP officer has risen to 23, including a 17-year-old, with bodies found in five Nova Scotia communities.
