Apple Sells Out To China Yet Again – Produces Limited Edition AirPods Celebrating Chinese New Year

Apple has never once produced a special event item for any other culture or religion.

Yet somehow China with death camps gets these year-after-year-after-year.

(sorry, site does not support image hot-linking)

Screw Apple - It always was a sell out

It's not just American corporations. "Australian manufacturing" is now an oxymoron - the only thing we "manufacture" are holes in the ground after we dig up iron ore for China.

Even the most Australian of Australian brands, RM Williams, moved it's clothing manufacturing to China.

They are materials the world desperately needs. They are also a source of a lot of revenue for governments and good mortgage paying jobs. Canada has so much resource wealth, but Trudeau it's better for the planet if Russia and OPEC supply the world and keep the jobs and revenue.

Of course, the money is good, as they say. That is not the problem.

The real issue is that it can only employ a certain number of people and with automation and robotic equipment that number grows ever smaller.

There is a well understood danger in putting all your economic eggs in one basket, as we discovered some years ago when the orders for Australian iron stopped. It didn't take long for the mining industry to ask for government handouts to survive. Our economy is far too focused on digging holes and selling the result to other countries to become wealthy.

As the oil producing countries will discover in the not too distant future, selling stuff you're lucky enough to be sitting on is not a solid plan for the future development of your nation's wealth.

The developed countries of East Asia and Western countries should never have allowed ourselves to become dependent on any single country........especially China.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/jan/22/china-hires-western-tiktokers-to-polish-its-image-during-2022-winter-olympics"> The Guardian > China hires western TikTokers to polish its image during 2022 Winter Olympics

Influencers told to extol country's virtues on social media despite diplomatic boycotts of Beijing Games over human rights record

An army of western social media influencers, each with hundreds of thousands of followers on TikTok, Instagram or Twitch, is set to spread positive stories about China throughout next month's Winter Olympics.

Concerned about the international backlash against the Beijing Games amid a wave of diplomatic boycotts, the government has hired western PR professionals to spread an alternative narrative through social media.

In November, as Joe Biden contemplated a diplomatic boycott, Vipinder Jaswal, a US-based Newsweek contributor and former Fox News and HSBC executive, signed a $300,000 contract with China's consulate general in New York to "strategise and execute" an influencer campaign promoting the Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics in the US.

The contract, which has been registered with the US Department of Justice, lays out a detailed public relations strategy. According to the agreement, between 22 November and 13 March, when the Winter Paralympics end, each influencer will be asked to produce three to five "deliverables", meaning content that is crafted to fit the targeted audience. Jaswal claims his company has received up to 50 pitches from influencers ranging from former Olympians to entrepreneurs.

The contract states that 70% of the content will be culture-related, including Beijing's history, cultural relics, modem life of people and new trends. Another 20% will highlight "cooperation and any good things in China-US relations", including high-level bilateral changes and positive outcomes.

The premise of this absurdity is that people will believe anything, ergo they are fundamentally stupid and easily manipulated.

Personally, I think any attempt to polish the global turd that is China is a waste of money.

cc

It is polishing a turd for sure .. and I understand what you are saying

Allow that many people are very gullible and very unaware of the world & it's players  .. many have no idea of china's  endgame

All internal politics, i.e. how govts react are a often factor of "public feeling" (including the gullibles) ... & thus china is hellbent on influencing public feeling

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison's account on Chinese-owned social media platform WeChat was taken over and renamed.

Morrison's 76,000 WeChat followers were notified his page had been renamed "Australian Chinese new life" earlier this month. The change was made without the government's knowledge, Sydney's The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported.

Joint Parliamentary Committee on Intelligence and Security Chair James Paterson accused the Chinese Communist Party of censoring the prime minister with elections due by May.

Paterson, who is a member of Morrison's conservative Liberal Party, called on all lawmakers to boycott the platform, which is owned by Chinese technology giant Tencent.

"What the Chinese government has done by shutting down an Australian account is foreign interference of Australian democracy in an election year," Paterson told Sydney Radio on 2GB.

"No politician should be on WeChat and legitimizing their censorship," Paterson added.

The infamous Scramble for Africa is on again. There is only country this time robbing the continent-China.

Communist Chinese Imperialists Steal Sub-Saharan Africa

A quick review of communist China's calculated territorial imperialism in the South China Sea helps clarify Beijing's calculated economic, political and criminal imperialism in sub-Saharan Africa.

In 2016 the Hague's international tribunal ruled that China had seized islets and "sea features" in the South China Sea belonging to the Philippines. It had also plundered Filipino fishing resources.

The ruling invoked the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea, a treaty China had signed. Yet Beijing ignored the verdict. Chinese diplomats contend in Southeast Asia, China is recovering "stolen" territory.

That defense is rubbish—propaganda to blur a wicked case of aggression by an imperial Great Power (China) at the expense of a weak neighbor.

China's "lost land" scam can't mask or excuse its imperialism in vulnerable sub-Saharan Africa.

Almost two decades ago prescient human rights groups, developmental aid advocates and savvy accountants began warning sub-Saharan African nations that China's elaborate promises of direct economic investment and generous loan arrangements were anything but altruistic. China's offers of technical assistance to build much-needed infrastructure were suspect. Aid advisers pointed out China typically insisted on using state-owned Chinese construction companies and Chinese workers, which denied local workers opportunities to acquire modern construction skills.

The prescient critics got this right: China's strategic goal wasn't development, but guaranteed access to natural resources to supply its industrial economy, especially with strategic minerals found in Congo like cobalt and coltan (refined tantalum).

Manufacturing mobile phones and computers requires coltan. Producing rechargeable batteries requires cobalt. China makes many electric vehicles (EVs) but one has special political importance: "city-town" mini-EVs. Domestic demand is huge. The deal the Chinese Communist Party makes with the Chinese people is they get modern goodies if they don't challenge CCP control.

It takes roughly 22 pounds of cobalt to make an electric car battery. Congolese minerals make China's economy whir and help preserve CCP power.

Congo's so-called "China Deal" is a detailed and hideous example of the CCP dictatorship's self-serving and ultimately malevolent imperialism in Africa.

In 2020 Congolese officials estimated Chinese companies controlled around 70 percent of Congo's mineral deposits and mining-related industry.

The leaked 2021 report alleged that China has invested less than one billion dollars in infrastructure projects, about half of what should have been invested by 2021.

The people of Congo are being cheated, and one of the cheats is China.

Imperialism with Chinese characteristics? Yes.
