Did you read your own link? It doesn't rebut what IHJ said, it reinforces it. There has been a lot false information and phony videos about the conflict in Eastern Europe. We shouldn't be surprised, we are in the age of social media and fake mainstream media. Look at all the misinformation the media fed us about COVID right from it's origins on.

But, all the mass media manipulation aside, the current American administration started this conflict. The Russian public are right about why NATO still exists when the Warsaw Pact is gone.

Remember how the media reported the fire near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant? They reported it as a direct missile strike that hit the power plant itself. It was not targeted at all and it didn't hit the nuclear power plant. Hell, we don't even lnow which side caused it, but facts don't matter to the mainstream media.

Mariupol will fall to Russian hands within a week or so. This will give Russia a landbridge between Crimea and the Donbas region. It is also an important port city. Once the city is in Russian hands give them full control of the Sea of Azov.

Russia could have used their superior air power and hypersonic missiles to bring this war to fast end. But, they wanted to minimize civilian casualties and destroying infrastructure.

Russia traditionally holds a World War Two Victory Day parade on 9 May and the fall of Mariupol will give them something to celebrate this year.

The West promised back in 1990 that NATO would expand "not an inch to the east."

That was former Secretary of State james Baker who said that.

He was far from being the only Western government official to offer assurances to the Russians that NATO would not expand East.

German Foreign Minister Hans Dietrich Genscher met with British Foreign Minister Douglas Hurd, the British record showed Genscher saying, "The Russians must have some assurance that if, for example, the Polish Government left the Warsaw Pact one day, they would not join NATO the next."

Wow! Moscow has good reason not to trust the intentions of Western Europe, the United States, and Ukraine.

I agree Thiel..

At the start of this war I believed the Western narrative that Russia's actions were unprovoked......nothing could be further from the truth.

I've seen that one. Almost nothing reported by the media and Western leaders has been honest right from what triggered it.

Three decades of American aggression. No major media network in North America or the UK even mentions this.
