Pat Robertson, Oral Roberts, Jimmy Swaggart and Ralph Reed to name but a few wealthy influential con artists. It was the worst thing to happen to the conservative movement. They completely hijacked the Republican Party and alienated millions of true conservatives and nearly all independents.  Good riddance to them.

I am getting mixed messages. Do you think those wealthy televangelists using their pulpits to advance their agenda was good for American democracy?

Just another con artist making money from the fear and paranoia of American citizens. Even when dead.

Sorry for kibitzing around & confusing ... I detest all televangelists with a passion .. charlatans to the core   ..



even  Graham was a slick salesman, not a preacher



Some of them tried to help Reps get votes I suppose .. but those votes were there without the salesmen .. so while some tried, I doubt many added to the vote total significantly
