Hahahahaa..I had a Heavy Regid Driver's license by age 24 and love playing around on 18t excavators. Part of my gig in WA was building vineyards when I wasn't in the viticultural laboratory measuring sugar content of various grape varieties.

I just love regional NSW. I'm literally coming up to a Christmas shutdown and I've been offered three jobs without asking for it. This shit doesn't happen in Victoria.

1st Job Offer: carpentry assistant (I haven't touched a carpentry workshop since age 16 in high school, ie woodshop).

It's paid in cash and over 1k a week.

2nd Job Offer: Mulching, Road Grading, and Spraying (I've only ever driven old tractors in my mid teens, like hay bailing, asparagus picking, whatnot) and forklift driving sporadically over 25 years.... but they've said "purffect".. I was like, I don't have a licence, and they were like "neither do any of us here"... lol

That's 1500 take home per week..

And the 3rd Job Offer is from the place that I work at now, despite the season ending. It was only meant to go for 6 months, but now they're feeling me out for a more full time roll.

NSW rocks. To be head-hunted without putting out any feelers feels bizarre to me. This stuff NEVER happens in Victoria.

They honestly can't find enough decent workers here in NSW. People are willing to pay people decent cash for just turning up to work. As I've said before, if you're able to transfer your son  and bring the rest of your family over...you'll be laughing.

I love it up here in regional NSW! God's country.  ac_drinks

I've always had to fight hard and out-compete to get a job since I was 13 years old. My dad got hired by conglomerates early on with virtually no experience and no prior training... yet at one point he was the VP of a engineering company which had over 800 engineers, but he wasn't accredited as one.

Are we going back to the old days of hard work and smarts?

Especially after the Mudbloods are dying randomly by the day or hour?
Blahhhhhh...

Breakfall

"Mudbloods" lol. Everywhere people are using Covid Flu as an excuse not to come to work for a fortnight. Employers are really getting sick and tired of it all.

In Australia, as you'd know, the 3/6 month probationary period is merely a means to weed out the bludgers and a means to identify good work ethic in an employee. Qualifications seem to be less of a concern over solid work ethic. After all...every business likes to in-house train their reliable staff.

We're an asset...not a necessary evil in this day and age.

Blazor

Besides Mudbloods, I like to call them Jabberwalkies lol.
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

Blazor

Sea using that Lily/Breakfall chop that Raven made, and saying that is Raven's ass.

I think Sea wants to play Raven

Even Stinky tried to warn him that he done fucked up  ac_toofunny

I just got offered a job with a company ute, free fuel, free HR licence, and the free experience needed to get properly licenced on some large pieces of farm/road machinery if I want the tickets later on. And the money is nearly double what I've been getting of late.

All from an unsolicited job offer through the bush telegraph.

My experience with this machinery is meagre and decades ago

.. frankly, non existent these days. They're like, you'll pick it up mate. Easy peasy.. lol
Blahhhhhh...

Aylana

Is anyone still reading admin and seamajor posts on BF? I put admin on ignore, and seamajor will join him because all he does is spam screenshots of BC and the same midget and perv photos he has stored on his photobucket account.

Biggie Smiles

Sewage is still sharing his personal porn collection with the board? lmao!

Seamoron is like a retarded kid with a new toy now that he finally figured out how to take screenshots.

They asked if I had a truck licence.

I said nope, but I've taken a few mining trucks on joyrides before.

And they were like "sweet!!"  ac_toofunny

Lol. A similar thing happened to me. I told them that I had driven trucks and tractors unlicensed on a farm. They immediately booked me in for my HR and the following week I was rigged out with a Mercedes 911 hauling 5 tonne of water and a 40 foot trailer and excavator. I felt like King Shit behind the wheel!

The license itself is worth a few grand these days...and the best thing about having it, is that it can always be used as a backup job as there's no shortage of companies looking for licensed truck drivers.

NSW shits all over Victoria.

Three unsolicited job offers in a few weeks one of which is in carpentry. I was like dude, I can use most of the tools and I did woodshop in HS, but I mostly stuck to refinishing antiques, and making boxes, cutting boards, and turned lathe products like bowls. Baby stuff...

And he was like "sweet!!" Because it's better than his apprentices can do.  ac_lmfao
