WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden's public approval rating fell modestly this week, a poor sign for his Democratic Party's hopes in the Nov. 8 midterm elections, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll completed on Tuesday.



The two-day national poll found that 38% of Americans approve of Biden's job performance.



While Biden's approval rating hit 41% last week, it has been mostly below 40% since mid-June

One of the ideas I have been kicking around to fight inflation is going to one of those bigger then bulk stores aimed at restaurants.  Usually they are membership only but since covid many have been offering day passes to people even if they do not have a business license.  The upside?  Prices can be extremely cheap; the downside is you often have to buy 60 lbs of any given meat (though some come in 20lb or even 15lb packages).  Also it is strictly cash only.



I have two refrigerator/freezers at my house but I don't think I would have enough storage space for all that.  Therefore a good idea might be to go in with 2-3 people then just divide everything equally.  That way you only get 20lbs of brisket instead of 60lbs.  The price this month in their flier for the nearest location is $3.09 for full brisket sold in 60 lb boxes.  Do people think that is a good deal?

The student loan forgiveness vote buying scam will end after the election. The hite House cannot spend up to one trillion dollars on this. Only congress can. If the Democrats win, Biden can claim he tried, but it's up to congress. If the GOP wins they can blame them for ending it. But, it will come to an end either way.

CNN anchor Brianna Keilar and national affairs correspondent Jeff Zeleny criticized President Joe Biden for the militaristic backdrop of his anti-Republican speech, and many on the left were furious with them.



Biden addressed the nation with U.S. Marines standing behind him in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and issued a scathing rebuke of the Republican party and those Republicans who support President Donald Trump.



Keilar and Zeleny both decried the use of the military for a political speech.



"There's nothing unusual or wrong with a President delivering a political speech — it's inherent in the job description — but doing it against a backdrop of two Marines standing at attention and the Marine Band is a break with White House traditions," tweeted Zeleny with a photograph from Biden's speech.
