i am reading there is a republican draft Jeb Bush for president about to kick into gear......what say you americans regarding this situation...personally i think he is probably the best choice i could think of right now.....mainly because the republicans seem so bereft of any viable candidates.....for the life of me i can't figure out why this is.....it seem that any prominent republican name turns out to be a complete nut job....i guess it's true that money can't buy brains....Romney probably would have done Ok...at least he had some business experience....i also read the republican Tea Party fundies will do what ever they can to undermine bush......seems like a crazy setup

They have got to get a visible minority/Hispanic candidate. Someone like Alan West, Marco Rubio or Bobby Jindal.

Look I know for people like urself or Fash, it's not something that hold ur interest. However, it is newsworthy.

People like myself, never been called that before. ARE YOU CALLING ME White?

Nah, I am just saying that the GOP needs to break the perception of their party and nominate a visible minority candidate.

Renee

I predict no more Bush in my lifetime. While he may be one of the most qualified candidates on the horizon, he's not going to able to shake the "Bush Stigma". Although JB has been trying to take a more open minded stance on issues like "common core" and "immigration" he is still going to be painted as Republican "old guard" should he make a run for the Whitehouse.

This time around the GOP will need something more dynamic looking that just the same old rich white guy ticket. That being said if the Dems are true to form and hold to tradition and they pass up Hillary in favor of the sitting Vice President, a Bush/Rubio ticket could have a very, very good shot.

I can't see Biden running in 2016. Fuck, he'll be 73. I would like to see Rubio on the ticket too, but as presidential nominee.

How old do you think Billary will be? She'll be almost 70 and she looks every second of 75.

Rubio is not ready for President. We've had enough (8 years) of Jr. Senator type qualifications in the Oval Office and you can see where that has ended up. Maybe in another 8 years he'll be ready for the big boy chair.

Biden will run if he is healthy and if he thinks his party will back him. His ego and his hair plugs won't let him do less.

Big diff is that a lot of people remember the Clinton white house years nostalgically, while by 2016 most people will be trying to forget the Obama/Biden era.

The Clinton Whitehouse?

The only reason anyone looks back at the Clinton era with nostalgia or anything resembling fondness is because Billy-Bulbnose-Clinton presided over an economy that grew dramatically despite his and his admins best efforts to stifle it.

His foreign policy was an embarrassment. The role model he presented for the US and to the world was even worse and he basically did absolutely nothing but damage.

BTW, there are still tons of people who think Odumbo is the second coming. Don't underestimate that. As far as it goes any damage Odumbo is credited with is being shuffled under the rug by a news media in the US that is almost wholly owned by the left.

As we are starting to see Biden has been strangely absent from the news of late and one can only surmise that his people are actively trying to distance him from any further damage Obama might be blamed for.

As I said, Biden will attempt the Democrat nomination 2016 and it will be between him and Hillary. It's going to be a battle between ancient and decrepit, sleazy and stupid, the lying murderer and the lying nitwit.

Renee, we've been through this before. US politicians are notorious for taking credit for things that they had little to do with. The fact remains that the US economy boomed and deficits were eliminated in the 90's under Clinton's watch. Do you think people may just see a connection there? I do.

When it comes to politics the memories of voters are short.

At the end of the first Gulf War, Bush 41 was one of the most popular presidents in the 20th century. The economy was doing well and after decades of looking like a paper tiger, the US was truly seen as the last superpower in the world. Less than two years later the economy took a dip and Clinton got elected. How's that for voter loyalty?

Furthermore Hillary NEVER enjoyed the likability factor that her scummy husband did or still does. Also there is still a strong far left segment in the Democratic Party that doesn't want Hillary as their party leader. They are going to try and carry on the Obama legacy no matter what. These are the same people who foam at the mouth at the mention of the Bush name and they are still a significant political force on the left.

I did read that somewhere. I can't recall where I read it, but it was an article about Hillary's chances of winning the white house in 2016. Anyway, most people think she would be the best candidate of either party to manage the economy and eliminate the deficit. In other words, carry on where Bill left off. I'll see if I can find it.

What do you mean where "Bill left off"? Bill didn't do anything.

The Clinton admin road the .com bubble and the rest of the tech stuff that was rising back in the mid and late 90s. The only thing they can take credit for was the WalMart type jobs that were a side-effect of NAFTA. In a lot of ways Bill's handling of the economy was little different than what Obama has done.

The only thing Hillary and her socialist ideology will ride is what's left of Obama's limp dick.

Remember if Clinton was so well loved then Gore should have been his successor. If political loyalty among voters could be counted on then Gore should have defeated Bush by a landslide.  Hell, all Gore did was promise a continuation of the Clinton years so why didn't the American people go for him in droves? Instead we ended up with an election so close that the SCOTUS had to decide it's outcome.
