Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) filed articles of impeachment against Vice President Harris on Tuesday, as Republicans ramp up attacks while she launches a presidential campaign.

The filing expands on previously introduced articles that target Harris's record on immigration, a GOP rallying cry against the vice president.

He added a second article in the new filing, which claims Harris covered up President Biden's mental well-being, constituting a "breach of public trust." While Biden ended his reelection campaign Monday, he has maintained that he will finish his term and is in good health.

"Kamala Devi Harris has knowingly misled the people of the United States and the Congress of the United States, principally to obfuscate the physical and cognitive well-being of the President of the United States, Joe Biden," the filing reads.

The initial articles, filed June 12, 2023, claim Harris has "demonstrated extraordinary incompetence in the execution of her duties and responsibilities, a stark refusal to uphold the existing immigration laws, and a palpable indifference to people of the United States suffering as a result of the ongoing southern border crisis in the United States."

Nothing will come out of it.

For John Strand, those three words best describe the year in prison he served for one felony and four misdemeanor crimes at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Strand was freed July 24 from a federal prison in Louisiana thanks to a June 28 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that knocked out the top charge against him for allegedly obstructing Congress on Jan. 6.

The court majority said U.S. Code 18 §1512(c)(2), which carries up to 20 years in prison, applies only if defendants "impaired the availability or integrity for use in an official proceeding of records, documents, objects or ... other things used in the proceeding, or attempted to do so."

The wording of the ruling was good news for Strand, whose Washington, D.C., trial judge had already said there was no evidence that Strand committed that type of act on Jan. 6.

House Speaker Mike Johnson used a viral moment from last month's presidential debate to respond to President Joe Biden's eyebrow-raising comment about him.

On Monday, Biden released his plan to reform the Supreme Court, a three-item proposal that aligns with progressive demands (court-packing).

But that plan will never see daylight in the halls of Congress, Johnson responded, describing the proposal as "dead on arrival in the House."

"President Biden's proposal to radically overhaul the U.S. Supreme Court would tilt the balance of power and erode not only the rule of law, but the American people's faith in our system of justice," Johnson said. "This proposal is the logical conclusion to the Biden-Harris Administration and Congressional Democrats' ongoing efforts to delegitimize the Supreme Court."

The Republican leader pointed out, "It is telling that Democrats want to change the system that has guided our nation since its founding simply because they disagree with some of the Court's recent decisions."

Later in the day, a reporter asked President Biden to respond to Johnson's statement.

"I think that's what he is," Biden said.

"That he is?" the reporter followed up.

"That he is dead on arrival," Biden clarified.

The comment immediately triggered confusion among reporters and political commentators alike because of the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump and the subsequent campaign to abstain from using threatening political rhetoric.

In that regard, Speaker Johnson found the perfect way to respond, using a viral moment from the presidential debate between Biden and Trump last month.

"I really don't know what he said at the end of that sentence. I don't think he knows what he said, either," Trump quipped at the debate.
