For around four in five untreated people perhaps. The other one in five recover completely with no medical intervention whatsoever. Not to rub your nose in it or anything, this is a matter you could have easily googled for yourself back when you first pretended there was no possibility of clearing the Hep C virus without treatment. And while you admittedly have not been privy to the regular blood screens I undertake at my own cost to confirm the absence of the virus in my system, the fact remains - I have outlasted the gazetted 20 years life expectancy sold to me back in 1997 by doctors at the Bendigo Base Hospital where it was diagnosed. You ought to be able to figure out from that information alone that whatever you thought you knew about the virus, you were wrong.



I have never so much as taken a pill for it, yet the virus is undetectable in my blood. TL;DR, my immune system fought off the infection and no amount of your doubt is going to change that.

Antivirals keep those virus from taking over and killing you BUT the virus still HIDES in your body somewhere so IF YOU STOP taking the antivirals your virus comes back. However if you didn't have either virus (AIDS or Hep C) in the first place, no foul.



So if you don't have Hep C now, you lied to people about having it, were given the wrong diagnosis to start with, but you certainly didn't cure it with your immune system dumbo.

Why you would choose to cast it off as a flat out lie is pretty dumb, particularly since if I had, then it was a lie I had you believing for over half a decade... you know, with each and every passing year where you were assuring all and sundry that I was going to die that year and you were going to march your dogs over to take a dump on the tombstone.



The facts are I did not lie. I was diagnosed with Hep C in 1996, documented in fact on the government books as being infected. 2008 at one of my six monthly tests, I returned a result of undetectable viral load. Surprised both myself and the nurse conducting the test, since like you, we were both operating under the assumption it was a disease I would be living with for the rest of my life. And every time I've had a blood screen for it since, the results have been the same; the antibodies in my system show I've had it, the viral load shows I do not have it at the time of testing.



Look, I can't help it if you have so little faith in a healthy immune system that becoming Big Pharma's junkie is the only way forward that commends itself to you. Maybe you've taken so many "recommended" shots by now that your body is incapable of fighting off so much as the sniffles, I don't know. What I do know is that when I was wanging shit up my arm I at least got a high out of it, so it kind of boggles my mind that anyone would willfully jeopardize their own immune system without even that much payoff.



Meh... get healthy, doubting Thomasita. You're not getting any younger and the drug companies are in no hurry to get any more careful. You can live a healthy life without having to submit yourself to experimental treatments.
