I stumbled across this several minutes ago while researching Krokus, a Swiss heavy metal band. I'm posting this here because the lead singer's voice is virtually indistinguishable, at least on this song, from that of Bon Scott (R.I.P.) of AC/DC fame:

Amen.

I tripped over this one earlier today. I'm putting it in this thread because I'd never heard of Imelda May although it turns out she is well known in Ireland and the U.K.  I listened to some more of her stuff and I must say, she's good. Really good:

They remind me of the Stray Cats rockabilly style.

This is one of those songs I've heard before, but can't remember when nor where.  Formed in 1967, Joy of Cooking was one of those hippy bands that got oh so close to the big-time, but never made it over the hump.

An interesting fact about JOC is that they were fronted by two women, Toni Brown and Terry Garthwaite. This song was a minor hit:

J E B Stuart, I can tell this a 1960's song without being told that it is.

Steve Miller Band is certainly well known as is the album Book of Dreams.  But, this song from that album was not released as a single and, as far as I know, it isn't familiar to anyone except longtime SMB fans. Regardless, I have liked this number for many years:

Stillwater was from Warner Robins, Georgia and existed from 1973 to 1984.  I don't know much about them, but they did have one song that made it to #46 on the charts in 1978.  Frankly, I think the tune was underrated as I consider it to be a Southern Rock classic:

I expect any died-in-the-wool fan of The Doobie Brothers will recognize this number.   Nevertheless, I'm posting this here because it is my favorite DB song, although it was never released as a single. As far as I know, it's never been in classic rock radio station rotation, either.

The song appears on their third studio album. On the album, Ukiah segues into The Captain and Me. You can hear that in the fade out at the end of this ewe toob posting.

I liked the Doobies with Tom Johnson. They became too pop with Michael McDonald.

I agree, Cochise. And I'll give McDonald his props - he's a damn fine musician. But, I like the sound of the pre-McDonald Doobies much better. I was fortunate to see them live waaay back when Jesus Is Just Alright had just come out. Great show!

It may be a bit of a stretch to put this tune in this thread. Well, have you heard of it?

I first heard this back in 1977 and immediately bought the album. Everything about the song was ridiculous, audacious and funny. Sadly, Ian Drury passed away in 2000. He was only 57. Here's to you, Ian:

That is uncanny. He sounds like a Bon Scott voice double.

I came across this earlier today while researching another group. Two personal takeaways here:  1) "Games" made it to #27 in 1971; and 2) I remember it, but I hadn't heard the song in decades.

Redeye was active in the early 70s and released a coupla albums.  This number is decent. To be frank, they sound very similar to the band Stealers Wheel:

Amen.
Deo vindice
