The Pretenders were formed in 1978. Chrissie Hynde is the driving force behind the behind, i.e., without her, there is no Pretenders. The band has had more than its share of tragedy. Original guitarist James Honeyman-Scott died at the age of 25 from cocaine induced heart failure. Bassist Pete Farndon died  at 30 of heroin  induced drowning  in his bathtub after being dismissed from the band due to drug problems. Both gentlemen are in this video of one of their hits from 1980:

My favorite thing about her is when she recounted that she was raped by some Hells Angels and took responsibility for her moronic decision to go out partying with Hells Angels. Like my grandpappy always said, "Lay down with dogs, wake up with fleas!"

That and she allowed Rush Limbaugh to use her music in his show openers.

I looked up Ratt in wikipedia.  No controversies listed.  Maybe only terrible to your ears?

Funny how two main things must be aligned for us to like music or should I say music with singing...

If the sound of the music offends our ears, we don't like it.

If we like both, we like it.  Plain & simple.

Funny you know that! His drummer said DAC wasnt the rabid racist everyone made him out to be. His entire "Undergroud" album was a hoot! A friend of mine got it back in the day and we LOL'd ourselves nearly to death!

I remember Ratt from the one song Round and Round, but I never got into them.  I didn't care for the vocals.  Just boils down to whatever does or doesn't float your boat, I suppose.

Lokmar was 17YO and slaying ALL the hawt (and not so hawt) pussy in Springfield, IL when Ratt came to the Praire Capitol Convention Center in Aug 1985. It was sort of a send off before I left to live in Cali for the next year+. Me and the crew showed up, slammed a bottle of JD Black, and rocked out to Y&T followed by Ratt! It was fukin fantastic!

I look back on them days and LOL my fukin ass off because I was that guy everyone bet wouldnt live to see 20. I drank hard, played hard, drank till I puked, and still had a boner stiff enough to slam fuck whatever rando tramp was around...and they were always lined up!!!!
