Most Chinese take out is not very good..

You have to go to a sit down restaurant without a buffet for good Chinese food.

Im sure! The only time I had a nice meal like that was when I was in Seattle. You dont find that around here.

Seattle has a large affluent Chinese community.

Oh, I noticed  ac_wub
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

Or be invited for dinner...

(I've found that if the household mostly cooks in a different building besides the kitchen, it's going to be really good....)
Blahhhhhh...

Chicken schnitzels and baked potatoes with butter mushrooms on the potatoes, avocado-tomato-cucumber salad arranged in the way the youngest likes it (alternating slices assembled on a plate like a colourful half a fish...)

I'm going to buy something from the grocery store deli tonight, but I'm not sure what yet.

Get some really streaky bacon (striated with thin lines of fat), fry it up, and make BLT's ( lettuce, bacon, tomato slices, mayo) with 2 toasted bread slices.

If you want to get fancy, make big sandwiches with three pieces of bread, or add pulverised avocados or whatever like cheese slices or condiments...

BLT's get consumed very quickly in our house. I have to fry up bacon in batches beforehand or it doesn't happen.

Tonight is make your own hot dog night. I cook up hot dogs and toast the buns then leave out diced up toppings for people to help themselves at.

Tomatoes, onions, pickles, mashed avocado, bacon, grated cheese, mayo, mustard, ketchup, and tins of Hormel chile con carne and sauerkraut if anyone feels the desire to open them and warm them up.

I can't get back home on Sundays after hospital visitation before 7pm, they could burn water if left to their own devices, so they get what they get.

On a side note, my boy chowed through both cinnamon donuts I brought him and kept asking for more. "Give me" and "donut" is what he says.... like the Cookie Monster.... I can tell he's irritated by his strict fathers presence, but he's always been a sucker for fresh bakery goods from our local village baker. Lulz...

His mental fog continues to dissipate week by week...
Blahhhhhh...

I never got a taste for that when I lived in the US.

Pretty much. Had SOS a time or a few hundred growing up.

Sausage gravy on biscuits is much better though.
