1. Is it true about the drugs?  That strippers are drug addicts and broken women from nasty back grounds?

2. What happens to men who touch you?

3. Did you ever sleep with any of the club patrons?

4. Does the club owner take a cut of your wage or tips?

5. Did you have a special talent or theme?

6. Who paid for your clothing and make up?

7. If someone touched you, what would happen?

8. How did you feel about women looking at you?

9. Was the money "good"?

10. What got you into stripping in the first place?

That should do it for now :)

Sometimes, my comments have a touch of humor, often tongue-in-cheek, so don\'t take it so seriously.

1. On a general level, yes.  Myself and every woman I worked with came from some level of broken home. Many of us had been sexually abused. I came from a home where my mother was/is an alcoholic and she was in the sex industry. So even a big part of my hated her, I ended up mirroring her, albeit unconsciously. I didn't really developed a full blown addiction to drugs during this time, but I certainly struggled with alcohol.  Many of the girls were also alcoholics, and used uppers, and the occasional heroin addict. Coke is a big thing...or was...as new Orleans never sleeps. Many of these women are mothers. Many also have other jobs, ranging from real estate to business owners.

2. That has always, for the most part, been at the dancers discretion.  We can have anyone kicked out at anytime. We can let some get away with everything. If women are caught doing sex acts, they are immediately fired, escorted out and "black listed", possibly having charges pressed. I worked for penthouse...so it really has a lot to do with how "high end" the club is and how sober management is lol.

3. No. I never did. Men always offered money for sex, would always try to date you, would offer to "save you".   It crossed my mind with certain patrons, I'm human and some were attractive, you'd have chemistry with some.  One time I fell in love in vip for about 3 hours...lol...but I never slept with anyone from the club.

4. Yes. There is "house rent", it ranged from 25, to 60 dollars. If you were pulling in money for the club, you were a "money maker" your house rent would be low or nothing. You make money for the club by selling the vip rooms and selling the bottles of champaign. You'd be surprised how easy it is to get customers to drop literally thousands into these places.

5. Of course!  Everyone called me "rocker raygan" because I stuck to rock, had my dark gothy look, and I can make pretty much anything sound like a good idea.

6. I did. And if you are an entertainer it's all a tax write off. We had a very diva-ish gay guy who would come in and do make up. We also had a house mom. We had a massage therapist a couple times a month.

7. Yanno, this depends on the touch. I wasn't one of those Nazi bitches who hated the customers. If someone was intentionally and aggressively groping me, I would handle it by either ending the dance, or tying him down with a belt. If someone was simply not sure what to do with their hands during a dance they would often glue them to their sides or touch the side of my body. That didn't bother me.

8. Women looking never bothered me. If you are naked on a stage a lot of people will be looking at you. Sometimes focusing on the other women made it more fun. Are you taking about female customers or other strippers? Because they are different. Women customers were sometimes the grabbiest. Other strippers are more into showing off for eachother.

 9. I was averaging 500 at least a night and often broke a grand. You tell me ;)

Yes. My grandmother, who passed away from colon cancer, clearly wasn't around for this. She would have been devastated. My mother knew. She had done the same in her life, as did my cousin in baltimore (male stripper/model). I don't have much for family. They were supportive of me. My mom has seen me on stage. My mom and step father actually have pictures of me (not nude) from some photoshoots I've done.

Females are always the most inquisitive. I've had the deepest questions asked of me by females...often accompanied by confessions and sexual fantasies. Asal just asked a load of deep questions....I'll have to wait until the kids are at day camp to answer her lol

I don't mind if you give a quick answer.  You answered a lot of them already (your family background).  You're in New Orleans???

Wulf

Very informative, Dove. I applaud your courage for being so open about it. To be honest I already knew the answers to many of the questions because I have a niece who was a stripper for a few years before she ODed, woke up in a hospital ER. She then smartly got the fuck out of that lifestyle and profession.

I guess I don't need to tell you that you are fortunate that you got away from that world reasonably intact. Too many of the girls don't. Good for you.  :smiley_thumbs_up_yellow_ani:
