So here is the thing, I have been smoking since i was 20ish and like most people that have smoked i have quit numerous of times, once for 8 months and i had it BEAT but my Sister passed away and i started back up again and haven't tried to put them down until just recently.

A good friend told me about the Vape pens and i have cut down considerably but just cant get over that hump, I have went from 10 to 20 cigarettes a day down to 2 or 3 (while using the vape pen).

Have any of you smoked and quit?

Do you have your own story?

Can you offer advice? (if your going to say just stop im not interested)

RW

I smoked on and off until I was 25.  I quit cold turkey.  It was easy because I was pregnant.

Listen to your friend and take advantage of what can be a cessation aid.  It takes will power and determination but you can do it.  It only takes like 2 weeks to kick the habit.  Just make sure you have a plan for if you get stressed that doesn't involve smoking.

Hope this helps.

I was a smoker until 25, and the first baby came along. I was nursing him and smoking at the same time and he started to cough.

I figured this did nothing for either him or me, butted out the fag, and never took another drag.

I did the day by day method. One day at a time. Took me about a week and there was no way I wanted a cigarette.

ac_toofunny......You must have one he'll of a set of moobs.

As far as smoking goes, I never really smoked (except weed). It's probably one of the few bad habits I didn't picked up. As a teenager I smoked to look cool but I don't like the taste tobacco leaves in my mouth and I don't like the smell it leaves in my hair or on my clothes so I never smoked seriously. Also, I was a serious softball player in HS and college and smoking was forbidden by the coaches. Funny thing was that in college, handing out dangerous diet pills, steroids and other barbiturates by the coaching staff was A-Okay but cigarettes were the DEVIL.  :oeudC:

I only socially smoke when the drinks are flowing so I can't really offer any quit advice.

Maybe give yourself green lights for certain times or situations and red lights for the rest, then reduce the green light allowances slowly?
Blahhhhhh...

I smoked in my late teens early 20s about 1 pack a day, then quit.

I just wanted to try it until the novelty wore off.

I tried every brand I could find, get my hands on.

Winston, salem, players light, gitaine, camel, peter jackson, cigarillos, carelton, virginia slims, etc.

Then I got tired of it and quit.

But back then, cigs could be had for as little as a $1.

So it was fun. Plus there wasn't all this politically correct smoker shaming that there is today.

We just did it, didn't think much about it. It was the thang to do.

But now cigarette packages are treated like porn, placed behind the counter with a shelf bra covering them.

Plus the packages are filled with graphic warnings. Its too much.

But who cares? People oughta do what they want.

Sometimes if I'm at a party or social gathering, someone hands me a cigarette and I light up, but feel no compulsion after that to continue smoking.

Sometimes I even like the smell of cigarettes, but feel no urge to go back.

I guess some people are addicts, get addicted to smoking and some don't.

How old are you Frank?

I guess nursing in Australia doesn't involve breasts like it does everywhere else.

I never smoked, but my Daddy has been smoking for 35 years. I was going to buy him one of those e-cigs, but I decided to spend the money on a handgun to use on his pet whore.
