No, none of that makes you Wiccan...or pagan. You are just drawn and comforted.   That's fascinating that it's a family faith for you.  You don't have to worry about me "burning the witches"....but if demons start in on ya...you know who to call hahaha. I'd love to see a pic of that statue, if you have one and don't mind showing.

Seriously though, I can't really answer that because I don't really know. I've always been fascinated by these reconstructed pagan religions but mostly from an academic sense. I have more than a few relatives on my mothers side, my grandmother being one, who are or where know practitioners of what's called "Stregoneria" which is a quasi-Catholic kind of Italian folk magic, not to be confused with "Stregheria" which is a pre-Roman, Etruscan sorcery. As a kid I was always kind of drawn to it but never went any further than watching my grandmother and her lady friends perform rituals and prayers. After she died I never really gave it much active attention.



I have an ex-sister-in-law who is a Wiccan in the Gardnerian tradition and very heavily into it. She belongs to a coven and the whole nine yards. She hosts bonfire celebrations on her property on Samhain and Beltane. I have been privy to a lot of these events over the years and I enjoyed them and found them stimulating, emotionally, spiritually and in some cases physically. I can identify with a lot of their points of view on life, the world around them and how they fit in with it. If you come to my home you will find little mother-goddesses and horned Gods all over in unexpected places. I tend to collect them. In fact I used to have an almost life size sculpture of the Venus of Willendorf in my garden at my house in WA. I would love to have it shipped to me here but it would cost a fortune and I'm not sure the neighbors would appreciate it displayed in the backyard.  



So does that make me a wiccan, probably not.  ac_dunno

I would love to show you pics of it but the only pics I know of are on a hard drive that I don't currently have access to.



Unfortunately distance and my current disjointed marital relationship have limited my access to a lot of things that are or where once mine. Hopefully that will change in the future.

This is a little early but so much of this Dropkick Murphy's video personifies my dads side of the family that it almost makes me puke. Every other year we have to travel to Boston for the Holidays and this is one of those years. Since I'm back on the east coast, I'm going to get stuck going.
