The media portrayal of the fiscal cliff standoff (and the debt-ceiling talks from which it sprang) generally portrayed President Barack Obama and the Democrats as pragmatists attempting to negotiate with intransigent Republican ideologues. But as ever, the stance of non-ideological problem-solving itself is rich with ideological content. For the latest example read Stephen Moore's Wall Street Journal interview with Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio).

What stunned House Speaker John Boehner more than anything else during his prolonged closed-door budget negotiations with Barack Obama was this revelation: "At one point several weeks ago," Mr. Boehner says, "the president said to me, 'We don't have a spending problem.' " [...]

The president's insistence that Washington doesn't have a spending problem, Mr. Boehner says, is predicated on the belief that massive federal deficits stem from what Mr. Obama called "a health-care problem." Mr. Boehner says that after he recovered from his astonishment—"They blame all of the fiscal woes on our health-care system"—he replied: "Clearly we have a health-care problem, which is about to get worse with ObamaCare. But, Mr. President, we have a very serious spending problem." He repeated this message so often, he says, that toward the end of the negotiations, the president became irritated and said: "I'm getting tired of hearing you say that."

Heard that. Boggles the mind ... but shows how far this Chicago Thug will go  1. to get his way / agendas  and 2. by destroying what little he has allowed to remain of a once great country.

IF there was a tiny opening to resurrect the country economically, that was closed tight in November. I now see NO hope for it

unfortunately they are so good at the game they have got the republicans eating themselves....even though it is a stand they have to make to try and save what they can...the dems and their msm agents will blame the republicans and the public will buy it

They are good at it. But that would stop there if that was all there was to it. It would be totally ineffective but for the MSM showing almost everything in their light, while ignoring anything that does not suit his / their mutual agendas. The obscene lock step collusion guarantees success.

Sadly, the MSM is where MOST get their info and really have no inclination or easy method to dig deeper. For most, input stops at the MSM = USSA evolved and is solidifying.

The United States does have a health care problem, what is wrong with acknowledging that?

U.S. Still Spends More on Health Care than Any Other Country

Yes they have. That's how a TOTAL failure got re-elected. And how he still looks a bit good to many.

BTW. He is such a fuck up (likely permanently killed the economy) they are getting desperate now and telling FULL lies, not 1/2 truths anymore to prop their boy up.

My innocent use of "boy" should draw some uber-lefts to lose it and make juicy racist accusations, lol

The other side has always made "tort reform" a prerequisite to health care. You see, the main reason for high health costs there is the cost of insurance, a result of ludicrous jury settlements (most docs pay  over 100 grand a year, some specialist 300, 000) .. staggering, suffocating ... but dipshit & his buds all get much of their  campaign money from ambulance chaser attorneys ... so guess what? Not a single attempt to reform it. That's why the new system will fail ... already is showing open signs of failure. Until tort reform (limiting jury awards), the system CANNOT succeed.

BTW, I think you have done one of the best jobs of determining a nick. It's brilliant

If a doc misses a stitch, look @ 6 or 7 figures for the unharmed "victim" - it's killing any attempt at health care. They didn't fix the core problem, so it is failing and will soon crash

Make health care affordable is too easy for left wing zealots to fathom + they have an ox in the fight from campaign monies. Some attorneys pay at least 1/2 of the huge sum they make to the demoncrat party ... they have so much left over that they are happy and the socialists get piles of bucks so they are happy .. and fuck the people, they don't give a damn about them. That's the ugly game that they are playing on the citizens of the now USSA.

Merely limit cash awards and it has a fighting chance of succeeding.

Edwards, John ... .in 08 - the one who made his gf pregnant  ... even when a trash mag had pictures of him sleazing in and of the kid he STILL denied it .... his wife was dying of cancer at the time yet

Then it went mainstream and he crashed and burned

He knows EXACTLY what he wants and does EXACTLY what it takes to get it ... turn the USA into USSA, break its economy to kill it as a power and make everyone dependent on the govt for money so they will vote in his ilk forever and complete every one of his / the uber-left agendas

Well thank you. Actually I keep informed quite deeply, and have formed very strong opinions on some issues. But keep in mind my opinions are from "my viewpoint" ... which I guess could be said for anyone. Take what anyone says, think on it and then see if it makes sense, passes the overall logic test and fits your logic.
