I really hope this is not true? What I learned helped  a loser like me live the good life.

Wrong. Our industries were sent overseas by rich environmentalists who bought politicians. They didn't want ugly, smoggy factories. They are doing the same thing today with our resource jobs. They won't rest until every single mortgage paying, private sector job they don't like has been contracted out to foreign competitors. They are selfish and think of Canada like they do their own sprawling estates. Shame on them.

Big rich labour opposes pipelines that would provide steel contracts for Southern Ontario and work for skilled labour.

Not all unions of course, but this is just one example of big labour selling out Canadian workers to California and New York billionaires. Bob's concern for working Canadians is as fake as his homosexuality.

Agreed

If someone needs a union, they're either not ambitious enough or they're just plain lazy. Work hard, upskill, get results, and move if one has to. Do those things and unions aren't required. In fact, do those things and unions will try to throttle you.

Public sector unions should never have been permitted in the first place. Besides, they are not as transparent as they should be and have too much influence over the political process.

CP has become nearly unbearable with a union. They would really crap on us without uswithout union protection.

Public sector unions are merely an organ of the left side of politics.

Public sector employees will never vote against the hand that feeds them high wages, lifelong tenure, and a cushy workplace.

Here in South Australia, 13% of all workers are public sector.

Think about that for a moment...that means that 87% of the workforce have to generate enough revenue to pay their wages. Only, of that 87%, only about 20% actually work in revenue generating occupations. The rest are lawyers, accountants, hairdressers and other "service" vocations.

Public sector workers were once paid less than private sector, in lieu of lifelong tenure. They now earn 20% MORE than their private sector counterparts whilst retaining tenure of service.

And we wonder why we cannot get rid of our leftist State government...

In the last US election, Mitt Romney mentioned the tipping point where soon more Americans would be takers rather than makers and he was called a cold hearted old white guy. At some point Western countries are going to have to make some major changes. Delaying the inevitable only makes the transition more difficult.
