Go to the bank...:  "Hi, Steff-an!  Is that how it's pronounced?"  Um, no.  I've lost track as to how many times I've asked people if they know who Stephen Harper is.  They all know who he is.  Then I say, "Why the FUCK would you think that my name is pronounced any different?"

And don't even ask me about my last name...  It's quite rare, and 9/10 people pronounce it wrong, but I don't correct them, since I don't care.



When anyone asks my last name, I don't tell them what it is...  I simply spell it out, since there's no other way they could manage.



And it's only six letters long...



Then again, I originate from the Whitest of White part of Europe, and there's actually not many of my people that immigrated here.
