Some shelters here require addictions counselling.

When someone gets down and out like that, usually alcohol and drugs are the only thing that makes them feel better if even for a short while. The only way they will be able to do better, is by getting high on something else that makes them happy, like actually having a life, but its a struggle for most. They need a hand up, not a hand out. Hand outs keep them in the cycle.

It's usually alcohol and drugs that got them to that low point.

But for the others, it could mean something like a wife cheating on them, then losing his kids since he didnt have proof but wanted out of the relationship, then she gets everything, hes left high and dry with nothing but depression and alimony and child support. Thats just one example, I've seen that one with a friend, few friends actually. One Im surprised he hasnt killed himself. Some folks just get down on their luck, and dont have the will power to pull themselves up.

Nice, I went out to Tucos Saturday and grilled shrimp the next lol. Tucos had some awesome salmon tacos with pineapple salsa on them, was so good.
