Thanks!

This place Im at right now, jus told me they cant find anyone wanting to work this job, and they will have to close up shop on Monday, if I leave this Friday.

They should have thought about that a few years ago. They only realize your value when you find a job that pays a living wage. I say fuck em. Let em go out of business. They brought it on themselves.

Exactly. Not paying me a sustainable wage, has forced my hand. I am the last non-family member to leave that place.

Yep.  Had a buddy that for six years worked reliably for a company, but wanted better pay & benefits, so he found it with another employer.  Only once he put his two weeks notice in, did they decide to discuss an improved wage package with him.

He told them to go fuck themselves.

Fuckers need to realize, no one wants to work right now. Pay up, or shut up, lol.

I hope it works out for you.

Thanks! I hope so too. I will have to endure for at least half a year, on a different shift, but half a year is nothing in terms of time.

It is an employee's market across North America right now. It is their own damned fault if they go tits up.

Like night shift?  It's not all bad.  During the Port Mann highway improvement project, those boys were running 24/7, so I hauled gravel around from like 21:00 to 06:00 for about six months or so.

Graveyard work is usually a bit more relaxed, not as much push, or at least that's what I've found.  I guess they're just happy they could find guys willing to live like Vampires.

Kind of weird though, winding down with a few brews at 07:00...  The neighbours probably thought I had a serious problem!

You didn't even have a basic dental/prescription drug package at your former employer? That is shameful.

Nope, nothing. When I was hired here, they had benefits, but didnt give them to me after 90 days like they were suppose to. A year goes by, and another new guy complained and got his. So they finally offered them to me. I hadnt gotten my raise yet either, so I told them "Im healthy, I'd rather have a raise". So I traded benefits for a small raise.

That is not too bad. You can still sleep somewhat normal hours.

They do not exactly make Forbes list of best employers.

Better than getting home at 4am when I delivered pizzas lol.

Also, I can switch to 1st shift after being there 6 months, which is 7-3.
