There are quite a few Homeless Women in Vancouver, Canada



...mostly White, others Native, some Asian in their 50s or 60s, scrounging the garbage for bottles, carrying around large plastic bags.



I guess this is what they call 'the Bag Ladies'.



The overwhelming majority of the homeless in our city are men, but there's an increasing number that are women.



I never used to see them before. But now they are appearing more and more.



It's really quite sad, because it's a sign that our society is unable or unwilling to take care of its most vulnerable citizens.



Anyways, what the situation like where you live?

It makes me fucking furious.



We DO NOT need any more people, until we can build infrastructure.



You know what's strange?  I've never been busier, and things should be slowing down now.



Even some pits are running out of material.



I have never seen anything like this.



It is NOT due to ANY infrastructure improvements at ALL!  It is simply due to building more for the rich Chinks!

Well S'Mel, it could also be a sign of darker days to come.



Yeah, they build build build like there's no tomorrow.



And of course, it's not sustainable. If these people or a portion of them leave, decide to park their money elsewhere, the construction could all come to a grinding halt.



The city politicians/planners are greedy, filling their pockets, all lining up to make a buck.



All in it for the short term.



That's all it's about for them. They don't care about the future or the people of Vancouver.



And the federal government seems far more intent to help out Arab refugees then our own people born in this country. They should help our citizens first, and if there's enough left over, then help the refugees, who should be gettin' the dirt, not the the gold. Instead its many Canadians in need, our youth and seniors who are getting the dirt. Priorities are mixed up here.

Well, my advice to you, is if you're in the construction industry, make as much money as you can while the times are good. Cuz if it slows down, it could come crashing down.



Pocket and Save as much for the lean times as ya can.



I've seen a couple of busts-crashes before in Vancouver.



it wasn't pretty 15-16% unemploment.



At least you gotta truck, so yer mobile ifya have to move or go somewhere else for work.
