The article didn't say if the land being expropriated was purchased legally or was acquired by family members unfairly through the apartheid system.

Actually I found a more recent article than that link.  In the link above SA was giving whites compensation for confiscated property.

Now they have decided that the government can take white property owners property away with no compensation whatseover
