A Rosella parakeet in my garden chowing down on lawn flowers. Couldn't get up close without spooking it so had to zoom on a phone camera hence the lack of quality.

I've only seen them in pet stores.

Same here too, my mom and I went for a walk yesterday and only saw a squirrel and a mouse sniffing a plastic bag littered by the sidewalk, or maybe it was a shrew, lol.

I saw on  a CBC show there is wildlife in Toronto..

Many raccoons and coyotes.

Lol talking about racoons think we have one living under one of our decks in our back yard, though we've never seen it since the bottom of the deck is fully sealed and connects from side to side to the fence so it can only enter and exit from the sides from our neighbour's yard, lol a few nights ago to our horror it learned how to open the organic trash bin and caused a mess, and also raided my neighbour's vegetable garden.

I've heard they have hands and can remove lids from bins as easily as people do.

I meant very lovely to this photo...

I would love the have these birds drop by my place.

We're infested by them. They seem to travel in pairs. We also get infestations of Galah's and Sulfur Crested Cockatoo's ripping up our lawns looking for insects or in our fruit and deciduous trees chewing through fruit and seed pods. Then there's the dumb Kookaburra's, especially the young ones which are constantly slamming into our windows and getting stunned or knocked out. Suffice to say, if you wash your vehicle, park it undercover, or it's a waste of time.

At least the bats don't come around often.

They go for Guilford grass, sometimes called Onion Weed...

The most importand thing in Australia are trees and birds.... anyone not like/loving either should leave our continent immediately. That means YOU.

I have no problem with any birds. They all taste like chicken. And besides, why would I leave my home just because some leftist thinks they don't like me? Nah. They can go bugger themselves. (The leftists like you, not the birds). Nearly anything with wings and roasted on coals is amazing.
Blahhhhhh...

caskur

Your bloody lawn is not more important than Australian birds... bugger your stupid lawn.

He's a hunter. He told me about his deer hunting exploits in the USA... And I heard him complain about the birds on his lawn when we spoke on the phone.

I may or may not trust you.

Trusting anything that mendacious mental midget says is an entirely different leap of factual faith.

They sure do!  When I was a kid, we fed a family of 'coons that eventually became so tame around us that they would take an egg right out of our hands and eat it right there.  You could see how well they could grasp the egg with their hands.

What we did was actually a bad practice, because these things started to think they were our fucking pets, and would enter the house if the door was open.  And they caused problems around the house and yard.

We stopped feeding them, as to not attract them anymore to the yard...

I've never seen raccoons in Calgary.

They're all over the place here!

Once saw a Puma chasing a raccoon in the back yard!  Now THAT is something you don't see (and hear: Raccoon screeching) everyday in Metro Van!
