All immigrants and refugees are a net benefit to Canada. They've been coming here since before Canada became a nation and now we're one of the greatest countries in the world.

Romero, Canada is only 146 years old and has a population of 34 million....it has grown so much in the last 50 years!  Canada is a great country, we have alot of benefits living here!  But the sad thing you don't seem to realize is how many people around the world are trying their damn hardest to get into Canada to take advantage of the benefits Canada has to offer.  For one, our medical is amazing!  No wonder immigrants want their old and dying parents to come here....so they take advantage of the system and block it up.  Working families with children need that service...not some old person who has never lived here, only to make waiting longer for the children and younger ones who will benefit.



It's true that some people do deserve to immigrate to Canada (but I don't agree with the refugee status anymore...people are now using that as an "excuse" to try bump it faster to get into our country.  Not everyone deserves to come to Canada, and not everyone is of benefit to this country.  If you honestly think that every single immigrant and refugee should be allowed here....YOU should be ok with all the existing citizens who are on welfare, in prison, etc. And yes, both immigrants and refugee status people fall into that catagory.

 

Look at how many articles you can read in the paper about "immigrants" and "refugees" who come to Canada, only to have commit serious crimes and hurt people.  At some point, this just needs to stop and more precaustion needs to be taken place to secure our country and allow the right people in, not just anyone.

Spot on Berry. I totally agree with everything you said. The refugee system encourages abuse from people that could not get into Canada as landed immigrants.

        That head tax should be enough to pay for millions of Chinese people to come to Canada that would have come if there wasn't a headtax. Canada should be much more Chinese if there wasn't any head tax and Canada should allow a many million more Chinese into Canada to atone for Canada's racist history
