Quote from: "Dinky Dianna"ie no checks and balances and no right to self determination. ie authoritarian top down tyranny when the milk goes sour. No thanks. Bricktop is the clear moron in this instance. No contest.

Gee.

Did I say that?

Kindly point out where I did.

So you agree with self determination, checks and balances, but you're against State's Rights ie local governance which has traditionally assured that the despotic hand of federalized nation states has been slowed or stopped and you think it's a waste which should be eliminated or the region should break away?

 :001_rolleyes:

Yeah, because Federal governments always accept breakaway regions.

Because State's don't make draconian and stupid laws...like, say Victoria. Yep. There's a State with it's head screwed on right.

What's the difference between a State that makes its own laws and a sovereign State? If States want to rule themselves, let them secede. I, for one, would be happy to see Victoria, the Socialist paradise, leave the Commonwealth.

If you leave the Federation, what will replace it?

Another government.

Then, of course, Phillip Island will want its own government and will secede, to be governed by...another government.

You really are a total idiot, Aaron.

Frood

You're happy for states to secede if they find your preferred top down federalist system unpalatable to their immediate concerns then you theorize it'll lead to a domino effect where regions within each new federal state might follow through?

Fan bloody tastic!

Eventually there would be no need for or recognition of any governments and people would be forced to live by the golden rules, care for their communities, keep their earnings, avoid wars, avoid mob ruled democratic votes, and be better human beings to boot.

You're right about Victoria though. It's increasingly becoming a socialist shit hole. It needs to be cut free and suffer, hopefully so that it realizes the numerous errors of its way.

Which is part of the reason we're in Tassie at the moment. While we appreciate the higher salaries and better services afforded to us in Victoria, it's an unsustainable state and we'd like out asap.
Blahhhhhh...

By Freud's principles, shouldn't these derailing posts be moved?

Not necessarily. DD's thread was cleaned up by request because the OP of a thread can request that. I cleaned this one up a little but everyone decided to do it again. If Fash wants me to clean it up again I will.

Well, we all agree that rules must be applied equally, regardless of the OP.

Derailment is derailment, after all.

There is no specific rule about derailing. But when asked by the OP, we will clean a thread up. Quite simple actually.

But, since the op was written by the owner, that aint going to happen.

Bricktop

Ah.

Thank you for taking the time to clarify that for me.

Oh...one more thing, then.

I created a light hearted thread about things I wouldn't do with various members. It seems to have turned into a Scouse bashing festival. Be a good chap and clean that up, would you?

I think I got them all. Hit the report button on any others you see. I will keep an eye on this thread and try to keep it clean.

Ya know, to me, derailing is the norm these days on most forums. But you, Kiebers and I remember back in the day when on CJ a derail got you a ban lol. And that site was crazy! Derails aint so bad, just scroll past it quickly if you dont want to read that bit. Sometimes I find it enjoyable when Im bored and decide to click on one that says something like "Birds of the North", and low and behold a couple pages in, I find y'all going on about how many farts can a burrito produce and how when Scouse farts it comes out as a Swastika cloud
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

Couldn't agree more. But Freud's delicate sensibilities have set something of an unfortunate precedent, and Cronus played right into his hands.

Cronus and I have already moved posts around in here..

I guess I could do it again if you are requesting it..

I have regrets about starting this thread.
