Bad news for mask mandates.

Some have heralded masks as the gold standard of protective gear against COVID-19. However, they may be causing more problems than expected.

Results from a study published in the Journal of Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety in May have indicated that masks pose significant risks to wearers due to toxins emitted by the tight-fitting face coverings.

Researchers from South Korea measured the number and concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted from several different masks, including cotton masks and KF94 masks—a popular type of disposable mask similar to the N95 mask.

Four types of VOCs were detected in KF94 masks at 22.9–147 times higher concentrations compared to other masks comprised of fabrics like cotton. The total number of VOC particles was 14 times that in cotton masks. In some KF94 masks, numbers reached a threshold high enough to pose a serious risk to human health.

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), VOCs are manmade chemicals that can evaporate at room temperature and are often "used and produced in the manufacture of paints, pharmaceuticals, and refrigerants."

Inhaling them may cause the following:

Eyes, nose, and throat irritation.
Difficulty breathing.
Headaches.
Nausea.
Damage to the central nervous system and other organs.
Cancer (some cases in animals, and suspected or known cases in humans).

Trump on Wednesday accused "left-wing lunatics" of fear-mongering about new COVID-19 variants in order to justify the reintroduction of their left-wing lockdown and mandate policies, which included the use of drop boxes and mail-in ballots in 2020, in a bid to rig the 2024 election.

President Trump made the remarks in a video posted on Aug. 30 on Truth Social, saying that his message should serve as a warning to every COVID-19 "tyrant" who not only wants to "take away our freedom" but who would be playing into the hands of those wanting to exploit COVID-19 restrictions to interfere in next year's election.

"The left-wing lunatics are trying very hard to bring back COVID lockdowns and mandates with all of their sudden fear-mongering about the new variants that are coming," President Trump said in the video.

People in New York are being encouraged to mask up this Labor Day weekend as the number of COVID-19 cases rise, including two new variants.

New York City's health department spokesman said wearing a mask could be a "good idea" when in crowded places this holiday weekend, as many will be in large groups. Sure.

Nope, no more masks especially since the actual science says they don't work.

In a blow to the COVID-19 "silent spreader" narrative that has been used to push for universal masking, including controversially among schoolchildren, a recent study published in The Lancet suggests that people who are non-symptomatic rarely have the ability to infect others.

Silent transmission is the idea that those who are infected with COVID-19 but show no symptoms can still spread the virus to other people.

While all relevant studies show that presymptomatic and asymptomatic "silent spreaders" account for some proportion of infections in other people, the degree of silent transmission is less clear.

A number of early studies—in some cases affected by limitations that may have led to their proportion of presymptomatic transmission to be "artifactually inflated"—suggested that silent transmission accounted for around half of secondary infections, or even more.

The early studies led public health authorities to argue that everyone should wear a mask at all times when out in public or crowded places. This, in turn, helped drive draconian universal masking policies, including in schools, in a bid to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

For instance, Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), initially discouraged universal mask-wearing early in the pandemic but later did a U-turn.

COVID-19 cases among vaccinated seniors soared in 2021, according to newly disclosed data that was acquired by U.S. health agencies but wasn't presented to the public.

Humetrix Cloud Services was contracted by the U.S. military to analyze vaccine data. The company performed a fresh analysis as authorities considered in 2021 whether COVID-19 vaccine boosters were necessary amid studies finding waning vaccine effectiveness.

Humetrix researchers found that the proportion of total COVID-19 cases among the seniors was increasingly comprised of vaccinated people, according to the newly disclosed documents.

For the week ending on July 31, 2021, post-vaccination COVID-19 cases represented 73 percent of the cases among people 65 and older, the company found. The elderly were 80 percent fully vaccinated at the time.

The Atlanta college that reinstated its mask mandate in August confirmed that it has ended the rule after two weeks.

Morris Brown College, described as a historically black liberal arts college, stated in mid-August that it would reimpose mask mandates amid what it said was a rise in COVID-19 cases on campuses near where it's located. That rule was scheduled to end on Sept. 3.

As of Tuesday, a public elementary school in a Washington, D.C., suburb is requiring some kindergarten students to wear KN95 masks, according to a letter obtained by OutKick founder Clay Travis.

A Tuesday letter from Rosemary Hills Elementary School in Silver Spring, Maryland, informed parents that some students would be mandated to wear masks at school for a 10-day period after at least three students tested positive for COVID-19.

Really bad news for the vaccinated.

A recent study on the immune effects of Pfizer's COVID-19 mRNA vaccine has scientists raising concerns over vaccine-acquired immune deficiencies.

Vaccine-acquired immune deficiency syndrome (VAIDS) is a new colloquial term coined by researchers and health practitioners since the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. Though not recognized as a medical condition, some experts believe the COVID-19 vaccines may impair or suppress immune responses.

While the new study does not use the term VAIDS, the researchers recognized "a general decrease in cytokine and chemokine responses" to bacteria, fungi, and non-COVID viruses in children after COVID-19 vaccination.

"Our findings suggest SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination could alter the immune response to other pathogens, which cause both vaccine-preventable and non-vaccine-preventable diseases," the authors of the paper published in Frontiers in Immunology wrote.

"This is particularly relevant in children as they: have extensive exposure to microbes at daycare, school, and social occasions; are often encountering these microbes for the first time; and receive multiple vaccines as part of routine childhood vaccination schedules."

The researchers from the Murdoch Children's Research Institute and Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, took blood samples of 29 children, both before vaccination and after two Pfizer mRNA doses.

They found that blood samples post-vaccination had a lower cytokine response to non-COVID pathogens compared to before vaccination. This reduced immune response was particularly persistent for non-COVID viruses. Blood samples taken at six months showed some children still had low responses for hepatitis B virus proteins and proteins that mimic a viral infection; however, cytokine responses had increased for bacterial exposures.

Immune responses to COVID-19 proteins—including spike proteins and their S1 and S2 subunits—and nucleocapsid proteins remained high after vaccination.

Professor Retsef Levi, specializing in risk management and health systems at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the study "adds to cumulative evidence suggesting adverse immune alteration" by COVID-19 vaccination. Family physician Dr. Syed Haider and immunologist and computational biologist Jessica Rose both connected the study's findings to VAIDS.

The study findings suggested "that repeat mRNA vaccine injections could predispose children to both viral and bacterial infections," cardiovascular research expert and retired professor of medicine at Brown University Dr. Andrew Bostom told The Epoch Times over email.

Scientists from New Zealand have uncovered the first case of a rare eye disease linked to both the COVID-19 vaccine and the virus itself, a new study published in the Journal of Ophthalmic Inflammation and Infection reveals.

A 28-year-old otherwise healthy patient was diagnosed with multiple evanescent white dot syndrome (MEWDS) after complaining of vision problems just two days after receiving her second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

The woman's symptoms included dark blind spots, phantom light flashes, and overall decreased vision—all specific to her right eye.

According to the study, doctors discovered that the vision in her right eye went from 20/20 to 20/50. In addition, her eye tissue was torn, optic nerves were swollen, and multiple pale-colored lesions were scattered throughout the back of her eye.
