I've never been to New York but I work in the Chicago area from time to time. I've been to the most congested and ghetto areas of Chicago and they arent as packed as Japan, not even remotely close....but its 10,000X more dangerous. Comparing the ghettos of Chicago to say Shibuya in Tokyo is pure Seamoron level stupid. Nobody in their right mind wants to go to the former while millions of people every year visit the latter.

But, Japanese and European tourist traps aside, the States is not the best country to live in. Any Americans who think otherwise haven't travelled or are in denial.
