A man has been accused of breaking into a Michigan residence and sexually assaulting two young girls, but despite the severity of the crime, many media outlets have attempted to obscure the fact that the suspect in the case is in the United States illegally.

In the early morning hours of March 20, a man reportedly broke into a residence in the Sweet Lake Manufactured Housing & Camping Resort Community near Sturgis in southwestern Michigan. While there, he allegedly sexually assaulted two girls, both of whom are under 13 years of age.

About a week after the vicious assault, the 25-year-old suspect was arrested in Fort Wayne, Indiana, about an hour south of where the attack took place. The man was charged with first-degree home invasion and two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

He was also issued an immigration detainer because he is a Mexican national who illegally broke into the U.S. at some point.

However, those interested in learning about the case but who have a habit of reading only article headlines likely missed that important fact. The following is a list of headlines about the case that popped up after a basic internet search:

"Deputies: Man broke in, sexually assaulted children,"

All four articles refer to the suspect as a "25-year-old Sturgis man." Two of the four withhold the information regarding the man's immigration status until almost the very end of the article.

His commercials are on every local station all day long and then watching the evening news you see them in every single commercial break. Can't get away from them.

After that came various commercials blaming Trump for the abortion ban, inflation, the immigration crisis, claiming he's going to take away your health care, and any other bullshit they can think up.

Now all this time how many commercials have I seen for Republican candidates? Zero.

How many Pro-Israel, anti-abortion or for other conservative causes? Zero.

Speaking of the evening news the top story for the entire week has been the hooker trying to squeeze a few bucks out of The Don.

But the weirdest thing I've never seen before, a local tv station is taking anti-Trump newsclips from it's own nightly news broadcasts and sewing them together into thirty second chunks. I don't know if it's a commercial for something political or for the local station or what it's supposed to be. It doesn't endorse anyone, there's no voice over, it doesn't give credit to any group or anything, it's just a bunch of their own newsclips thrown together. It's like watching SorosTV.

I'm starting to think I should identify as a bear and hibernate for the next six months until it's over.

CNN's "Reliable Sources" newsletter Monday featured an interview with MSNBC host Rachel Maddow in which she expressed concern that former President Donald Trump will put her — and others of her left-wing ilk — in one of the "massive camps he's planning" should he win back the presidency in November.

CNN showcased a report that featured supporters of former President Donald Trump saying the United States is a constitutional republic and other interviewees saying those comments are a threat to democracy.
